12 Fun Planters for Your Spring Flowers

I am beginning to believe that spring may really be here and we may not get that last cold snap that we usually get! Sooo…I am starting to think of ways to display my spring flowers…both inside and out! I love to use interesting and unusual items as planters and vases and, since I thought that you might be ready for flowers, too, I decided that I would share them with you today! Here are twelve different ways that you can spotlight spring flowers in your home! 



#1. Dollar Store Vases
My Pottery Barn inspired burlap-wrapped vases are a fun and inexpensive way to show off some spring blooms! Cluster them on a platter or tray to create a centerpiece for more impact!

#2. Egg Cups
Plant small flowers such as violas in plain white egg cups and gather them on a vintage silver tray. A little Spanish moss adds to the texture.

I added mine to my vintage French spring vignette since violas have an old-fashioned feel that reminds me of my grandmother.

#3. Chalkboard Flower Pots
You can create fun little personalized gifts or add a seasonal greeting to these chalkboard flower pots! You can’t get much easier or less expensive than this!

#4. Painted and Découpaged Box
You can create this vintage-look planter box with a few supplies and an old Clementine box! And…I have even provided the label! I filled mine with lavender…a very frenchy favorite of mine!

#5. Flower Pot Man
My little grands love this one…a little flower pot man for your garden! Just choose a small plant to serve as his hair. My little man gets different hair each year just for fun. I have included detailed instructions for assembling him here.

#6. Picnic Basket Planter
A $4.00 thrift store find was transformed into this shabby picnic basket planter with just a few steps. Mine is waiting to be filled with begonias and added to my patio for the fifth summer…still a favorite!

#7. Pretty Pitcher

#8. Tureen
I have several white tureens that I love to fill with flowers to add a spring-y feel to my home. For this simple spring centerpiece, I just popped in several small pots of hyacinths wrapped in burlap and…voilà! Easy peasy!

#9. Vintage Ironstone Teapot
I have a small collection of Red Cliff ironstone pieces and this teapot is one of my favorites! Just add tulips for an early spring centerpiece!
 #10. French Wire Egg Basket
Who says you can’t use a wire basket as a planter? I just wrapped some hyacinths in burlap to add texture and popped them in! They add the perfect touch to this simple and rustic spring centerpiece! Then once they stop blooming, just transfer them to your garden!

#11. Fabric Decoupage Flower Pots
These flower pots use a pretty fabric to create a planter that is even worthy of gift-giving! Imagine adding mom's favorite pattern for a thoughtful Mother's Day gift! And these fabric decoupage pots are fun and easy to make, too!

#12. Mini Galvanized Tub
If you love fresh herbs but don't have the space for a full-fledged garden, then this easy planter is for you! My mini herb garden even has DIY chalkboard plant markers just for fun! I plant mint for my tea and a few favorites for cooking so I can just gather them from the patio when I need them!
