Here’s what you will need:
- Mason jar or other glass jar
- Sleeves from an old sweater, preferably one with a design that would let the candlelight show through (I found my sweater at Goodwill)
- Needle and thread
- Votive candle (I used battery-operated candles)
Start by cutting the sleeve a little bit longer than the jar.
Next, put the sleeve on the jar, turn the jar upside down and, with a needle and thread, gather up the unfinished edge, fitting it over the bottom of the jar.
Pull the stitches tightly and tie off the knot to create the bottom of the candle cover.
Finish your cozy candle off with jute twine if you wish…
…or fold the sleeve over for a simple, clean look. Now just add the candles and enjoy the glow!
