Sooo…I headed to the garden shop for a few flowers. I was excited to find just what I was looking for…purple violas! Are you familiar with them? They are little teensy-weensy pansies. In fact, they almost look like violets to me. I planted them in some simple white egg cups that I found at Ross (6 for $4.00) several months ago and had been saving to share with you! Love them! :-)
I also love the new little faux chalkware lamb that I found at Wisteria. Isn’t he adorable? Lambs and sheep just seem so French to me! I always think about Jeanne d’Arc, my favorite historical figure, who was a shepherdess as a girl.
And this is my super-easy new project…a thrift store frame painted with Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint and then distressed. I dressed it up with a burlap covered insert…
…and then added a little jute twine “clothesline” and used tiny clothespins to attach some vintage letters to spell merci. They were a gift from my sweet friend Pat…love them!
I made a few holes through the insert to add more jute twine and tied on one of my favorite vintage silverplate forks just for fun!
You might recognize the frame from the first time I showed it to you…to show off my Ballard Designs bargains last year.
And there you have it…my vintage French spring vignette! Now I have my fingers crossed that spring is really here and I can plant the rest of my flowers outside!
As for the staff, Cat TV has once again become their favorite activity now that the birds are back, another sure sign that spring is here! What about you? Are you seeing signs of spring at your house?
