8 Easy Projects for the Garden

My favorite time of year has arrived and so has my favorite occupation...getting my yard in order followed by loooong spells of what I call patio sitting! It's time to hit the gardening center and fill my favorite containers with fresh flowers and herbs! So I am sharing eight ways to display flowers and plants...including a little bit of the unusual plus a few unexpected ways to dress up the ordinary.

An easy way to give a plain terracotta pot a whole new look is to add fabric. My DECOUPAGE FLOWER POTS  are fun and easy to make!

Or if you want to send a message, my CHALKBOARD FLOWER POTS allow you to do just that!

Or how about arranging your flower pots in a fun and easy FLOWER POT WREATH! I must confess that I actually used dried flowers in this one although succulents would do well.

However, my LIVING WREATH is covered with easy-to-grow portulaca and thrives with minimal watering.

This little FLOWER POT MAN makes a return to my garden every year and frequently changes his hair to suit my whims!

And don't throw away your wooden clementine boxes! They make a great little VINTAGE FRENCH PLANTER BOX. The free graphic is included in the instructions.

I used a small galvanized container to create a little MINI HERB GARDEN including my favorites for cooking along with some mint for my iced tea! You will also find a tutorial for these CHALKBOARD PLANT MARKERS...so fun and easy to make.

And finally...and my favorite...an old thrift store picnic basket got a make-over as a SHABBY PLANTER. It adds the prefect texture and contrast for some pretty pink begonias!

I hope you were inspired by one or two of my projects and will try them out for your own garden!
