But this year's mantel is more my style...pretty uncluttered, really. There are just several high-impact large pieces, the star of which, so to speak, is the wreath!
My POTTERY BARN INSPIRED PAPER STAR WREATH was easy and inexpensive to make...just scrapbooking paper folded into 3-D stars!
A vintage-y zinc planter is filled with a collection of rag balls in stars and stripes along with shiny red Christmas balls.
The RAG BALL FILLER was another fun and easy-to-make project that has actually been rather versatile!
A festive garland in more stars and stripes was actually a $7.00 Walmart purchase...so cute and inexpensive that it wouldn't have been worth my time to try to make my own!
My favorite barnstable lanterns, a purchase made at Joss and Main several years ago, seem to find their way into all of my farmhouse-inspired mantels!
And finally, here's another look! It's actually been up since before Memorial Day and may stay there past the 4th of July since stars and stripes just say summer to me!
And just in case you are looking for even more inspiration, here are TEN FUN IDEAS IN RED, WHITE AND BLUE, including several of the projects on the mantel as well as other favorites of mine! I hope you'll check them out!

I almost bought the banner at Walmart, but didn't. I'm going back to get one as yours looks like it is high quality for the price. Very festive!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteLove your red, white, and blue everywhere.

It really looks so festive and inviting! Thanks for sharing. Happy week to you! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteDebbie - when you decorate for the holidays throughout the year, do you remove your "french" items? I really couldn't figure it out when I was looking at the 4th of July pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi April! Yes, I remove them in several locations, including my mantel. But others, such as my Quimper collection, stay out all the time.
