DIY Mini Herb Garden with Chalkboard Plant Markers

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mini Herb Garden with DIY Chalkboard Plant MarkersSummer is almost officially here and one of the things I love about it is being able to cook with fresh herbs.  Sooo….. I decided that this year I would have my own little garden with all of my favorites! That way I don't have to make a run to the grocery store when I need herbs...and you know that now just going out has become an ordeal! So while I was at it, I thought I would make it cute and fun and use some more of my favorites…galvanized goodies and chalkboard touches!

Summery Farmhouse Centerpiece

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Summery Farmhouse CenterpieceIt’s July and in Georgia that means two things…it’s hot and it’s time for peaches! A trip to my favorite produce stand in the north Georgia mountains with my BFF Nan netted me some wonderful July Flame peaches so I thought I would share them with you. Ironstone and Grain Sack...A Vintage Farmhouse Centerpiece

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Vintage Farmhouse CenterpieceI like to imagine that I live in an old French farmhouse in Provence…but until I win the lottery, I will have to be satisfied with adding a few farmhouse touches to my own little home. And my breakfast room table is a favorite spot for me to do just that! This time I am combining all of my favorites…ironstone, silverplate, toile and grain sacks… into one centerpiece for a real vintage farmhouse feel.

DIY Farmhouse Candlesticks...from the Toy Aisle

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT DIY Farmhouse CandlesticksI love adding farm animals to my décor! There is just something so serene and peaceful about them! Easy Mason Jar Tea Towels

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mason Jar Tea TowelsI have a super easy summery project for you…my Mason jar tea towels! Mason jars always remind me of my grandmother, who spent a part of each summer canning fresh vegetables from the garden…especially her green beans…my favorites! I grew up in the mountains and green beans there are better than anywhere else on earth…but I digress!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mason Jar Tea Towels I love the look of vintage Mason jars…just the perfect shade of blue and the wonderful patina of the old zinc lids! So I was really excited when I stumbled across this…

Vintage Mason Jar Mirror Image
…a fabulous graphic from…who else?…Karen at The Graphics Fairy! She is always so kind to share her finds with us! I took the liberty of making it a mirror image, since that is what you will need for this project. I simply printed it on iron-on transfer paper at 4x6 size (you can get two on a page) using Photoscape, a free photo editing download, and them cut it out, leaving a small bit around the edges. Next, I followed the directions on the package of transfer paper (I used Avery brand for light fabrics) to add the image to a flour sack kitchen towel (mine came from Target). And that’s it!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mason Jar Tea TowelsAnd here’s another look…a perfect copy of the vintage Mason jar…right down to the zinc lid!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Summer Mason Jar CandlesAnd just in case you are a lover of Mason jars like me, here is my series of seasonal Mason jar candles, beginning with my summer Mason jar candles.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mason Jar CandlesAnd here are my Pottery Barn inspired Mason jar candles…perfect for fall!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Mason Jar Christmas Candles And to continue my seasonal candle ideas, here are Christmas Mason jar candles

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Peeps Mason Jar Candles …and my Peeps Mason jar candles…my favorite of the bunch!

Miss Kitty Miss Kitty says…Hold on! It’s waaaaay too soon to even discuss those last two! She is in full summer mode, enjoying the playground...and I have to agree! But I figure that you might want to get a head start on some seasonal Mason jar ideas. After all, we early planners have to stick together! :-)
