I used a burlap bag as an Easter basket filled with faux grass and simple white eggs. My favorite little bunny is standing guard! In the background…the sap buckets that I found at the Country Living Fair back in the fall are filled with white faux tulips.
And just in case you are wondering whether or not I raided my fridge for the eggs, here’s my secret…white decorating eggs from Walmart at $1.97 for a dozen. Aren’t they realistic?
On the opposite side of the porch is another sap bucket filled with white tulips and a basket of more of those faux eggs! And behind them you can see my boxwood nestled in a galvanized olive bucket and tied with a burlap bow, echoing the bucket on the other side of the porch.
You may remember that I shared this secret with you back in the fall…olive buckets from Walmart for under $10! Whaaaat? Yes…it’s true! I have enjoyed mine so much and you can’t beat the price compared to those high-priced ones from the flea market or antique shops! You can get all the details here. (Be persistent…they are frequently out of stock, but if you check back regularly, you can find them.)
On the door, you will find my Pottery Barn inspired burlap bunny banner. Its simple, rustic look helps to add to the farmhouse theme. There is a complete tutorial here.
So there you have it…my farmhouse porch for spring! I am enjoying this simple, rustic look!
And…my porch is not the only place where I am using burlap this spring! Here are a few more ideas…
As for the staff, Baby Kitty is thrilled that spring is here and anxiously awaiting the day when the geraniums are blooming again and lizards are hiding under the garden snail on the patio….ahhh!
