It finally happened! It started last night and continued into the morning…wonderful, wet flakes of snow! And, as I told you in my last post, it was my first white Christmas ever!
The ice crystals hang like diamond drop earrings from my little Japanese maple…
…and the snow has clustered inside the leaves of the holly, making it look like a snowy rose waiting to bloom!
It’s a wonderful winter wonderland in our little neighborhood…the best kind of metamorphosis!
There will be no lunch on the patio or time on the swing set with the grandchildren today! They are at home, not too far away, enjoying their own first white Christmas!
Of course, the staff each took a turn to check out the snow…
…and opted to stay inside and play by the fire…
…which is where you will find me all day today...enjoying a little quiet time after a very busy week! Won’t you join us for a cappuccino? Now, where’s that Sunday paper? Hope you are enjoying your day!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing our first White Christmas! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

Debbie, How exciting to have a Christmas snow ! We live in PA and I believe the snow will bypass us and head straight for NYC and Boston -We actually were hoping for a little snow on this lazy day :-) I love your photos and the description you give , they do look like diamond earrings and a flower ready to bloom -How magical! -Maybe you will get to take a walk later today and discover more magic around your neighborhood. Thanks for sharing and I love seeing the "Staff" doing what they do best!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your snow looks gorgeous. It was 74 here yesterday. Can't believe how different it is across the country. Your pictures are gorgeous. Stay inside and enjoy the fire as you look out at the beautiful white snow. Hope your Christmas was super special. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Debbie. It is melting way too fast!!
ReplyDeleteHappy White Christmas! We got snow too -- in fact it's still coming down here in Mid-Atlantic Virginia. Looks like it might just be tapering off a bit. I'm staying in and cozy! Perhaps a long winter's nap in my future.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snow, Debbie. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year! La
ReplyDeleteDebbie,

ReplyDeleteOh Debbie how perfect!! And it's your first white Christmas EVER? Doesn't the snow make everything seem magical? I'm so happy for you!...Ok and just a little jealous too *winks* We had a nice WET Christmas in the Pacific Northwest *sighs* Vanna
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't have as much as we have today. But it does make a nice holiday. We'll try going out tomorrow -- hope you were able to brave the elements already. Happy New Year. Jane
ReplyDeleteIt was magical wasn't it! The snow is almost gone from my front yard since we get lots of sun there but I still have plenty in the backyard.

I so love seeing your cats in action. They are so pretty. I rescue animals so whenever I see well loved cats in excellent homes it warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteI've just had the most wonderfully relaxing time exploring your blog and enjoying the beautiful music. Thank you for a most lovely experience and Happy New Year from a new follower.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful metamorphosis and I'm so glad you got to enjoy your first White Christmas. Even living in Michigan having a White Christmas is always a special treat. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am glad your dream came true, :)
ReplyDeleteI understand, the novelty! It is pretty bad here, no mail, no RR service. Glad I have nowhere to go!
Enjoy your white stuff!
I've had enough of the stuff for this year but I am glad you are enjoying it. I'm always sad to see the Fall leave. Love the photos of the cats and especially Baby Kitty & Isabella play-fighting. So cute! Happy New Year, Deb. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteIt was simply amazing! So nice to have a white Christmas in South Carolina. Looks like you enjoyed it as well.
ReplyDeleteLove your photographs! I was born and raised in NY and I know there is a 1 in 7 chance of having it snow on Christmas. Now I live in South Carolina (not far from Debbie) and I can't even image what the odds are to have snow here in the south! Pretty amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI would be honored to have you add it to my blog party
