Mosaic Monday/Outdoor Wednesday...or...Dreaming of the Beach!

chair2 I need a virtual trip to the beach! Two of my friends have each gone to the beach with their families this week and I want to be there, too! Don’t feel too sorry for me, though, because I will be there at this very moment a month from right now! I will be sitting in this chair at Seagrove Beach, Florida, enjoying what is, to me, one of the most amazing beaches in the world! No...that is not snow! That is beautiful white sand! It will be wonderfully peaceful and quiet. The weather will still be gorgeous and there will be no crowds! Can you hear the surf and seagulls yet? If not, just turn up the volume and you will! :-) I will take long walks on the beach and I'll need to because...

redbar I will eat at all of my favorite restaurants! I'll have eggplant stuffed with shrimp and scallops at The Red Bar (pictured above)…fried green tomatoes with crawfish étouffé at Stinky’s Fish Camp…crab cakes with slaw and hush puppies at Bayou Bill’s…crabcakes cavallo at Another Broken Eggand shrimp and grits at Bud and Alley’s, where I will sit on the rooftop deck and enjoy the view!

Click here to see Bud and Alley’s live web cam and enjoy a little taste of the beach if you need it as badly as I do!

page But at least one night, I won’t go out for dinner. I’ll boil some shrimp, sit on the beach and watch the sunset! You can almost hear a hissssss as the sun sinks into the gulf! Ahhhhhhh!

chair3 Won’t you join me?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please join Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday to see one of her beautiful mosaics and to find a list of this week’s participants!

Outdoor_Wednesday_logo Then on Wednesday, head on over to Susan’s at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday, where we get to peek into Susan’s beautiful gardens and see what everyone else has been up to while enjoying the beautiful weather this week! See you next time! A la prochaine!

  1. Hi Debbie! Oh what a lovely beach and the month will be over before you know it and then you can go. At first I thought that pretty white sand was snow! It's beautiful! Pretty mosaics!

  3. My goodness... I too thought the sand was snow and you were just pulling a trick on us. The only place I've seen sand similar to that was at White Sands, New Mexico. Yours is much better. Just as I was thinking how nice it would be to have sound with your blog pictures... there it came. Lovely!

  16. I took a look at the menus and girrrrl I am hungry! It's getting around dinner time and can't figure out what to have. I'll either check out the freezer or maybe I'll go get some fast food. I know not the most healthy option but I'm tired!

Hope you had a great weekend!

  17. Debbie, sounds like a perfect little vacation. October should be a lovely time to be at the beach. I was in Sandestin in August. There was Another Broken Egg there as well. Love their sign of the rooster atop the egg. I posted that photo on my Outdoor Roosters post during the Week of Roosters. :-) Love listening to the sound of ocean and the seagulls. Thanks for this lovely post. ~ Sarah

  35. Hey Debbie! Let me say first of all, I was elated when I saw you had stopped by my blog! It was so good to hear from you. It's always nice to see what you are up to.

Oh, I did not make it to the beach this summer. For various reasons, our annual trip to N.C. and Va has been postponed. We are still trying to make it work this fall, but all I can hope for is a nice, crisp walk along the ocean. That will do nicely!

  36. Girl this looks so great I love the ocean so much and I missed it since moving to the mountains...but its only 2 hours from me so I try and go at least once a year...I pray all is well in your world my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria ps who takes care of the staff while your gone???

  38. Beautiful mosaic, and beach chair shot. I was down the beach today, but needed a sweat shirt..still beautiful though!
I know you are looking forward to your trip this fall...no pun..:)

  39. Ha Ha, I actually turned to my window to see the lost seagull I heard. Took me a second to realize where it was coming from! We do occasionaly get them this far inland but it's usually during the rain/fog season.

You got me a second time too, My first thought was snow, not sand. Wow its pretty there. Our sand is very different out here on the West coast. That's what I hear anyway, I've never been to an East coast beach.

Someone from your staff sent a friend to apply for a position here but it just didn't work out!
    Hugs,
    Dawn

I thought I was all excited about fall and over the end of summer until I saw these photos! The beach calls my name...no matter what the season. I am blessed to be 15 minutes from Tybee but there is something about Florida....especially the west coast and the Keys that is just so special! I know you will have a wonderful time!

    ReplyDelete
  42. You make it sound so wonderful I just may hitch a ride with you LOL! I only like the beach at the end of the season when it's not too hot and when there aren't too many people!

  56. Debbie,
This beach looks wonderful so can I please virtually join you? Thank you for you comments on my French Kitchen Charm post. You would certainly know first hand better then anyone what they are all about. My experience living in Dubai quickly taught me how important a work triangle is. They use beautiful high end products and materials, but the kitchens are laid out poorly. I had to hike the length of a football field to fetch items from my refrigerator.
