With fall finally officially here, I am having fun playing with my grandmother's dough bowl to create a seasonal centerpiece for my dining room table. And with my emphasis on calm, soothing colors this year, I decided to try filling it with natural elements in shades of creamy whites and green.
I used three basic layers to create this year's look.- Start with a bed of greens such as kale. Yep...kale straight from the grocery store! I love the darker shade of green and all the ruffly texture that it adds!
- Layer in white pumpkins and gourds in several shades of green. I am loving all the lumps and bumps on this pale green gourd!
- Top it all off by sprinkling in a handful of pretty acorns. It sounds like a recipe for a salad, doesn't it? ;-)
I found some great gourds in shades of green this year! I love this cute little guy! It sort of looks like a mini watermelon...round like the ones from the market in France.
And how about this one in shades of pale green! Its unusual shape was new to me...unique and very different!

And here's another look at the final result! I am loving the serenity of this one! And with a house full of three busy grandsons and my crazy new life, I'll take all the serenity I can get! ;-)

I just bought a doughbowl at Hobby Lobby. I am using your instructions to fill it. TY for the blueprint. Fall in S. FL is a little different since we are running AC.
