Easy (and I Mean Easy) $8 Halloween Garland

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Easy $8 Halloween GarlandI have a super easy idea for a fun Halloween garland to share with you today! It requires no skill other than opening some packages…seriously! And it was super inexpensive, too! I know some of you may not be ready to think about Halloween but I wanted to tell you about it while the supplies you need are still available. And they are going fast!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Easy $8 Halloween Garland suppliesMy inspiration...and my supplies...came from Target where I found myself circling the dollar bins while they were putting out the Halloween decorations. I was on the hunt for a sturdy garland for the front porch and, of course, it has to be cute for the little grands. So when I spied these items, my little wheels started to turn!
Here’s what you will need:
  • Pom garland (72 inches)
  • Wooden clips (10 in package…5 orange and 5 black)
  • Cardboard pumpkin silhouettes (5 in package)
  • Cardboard black cat silhouettes (5 in package)
And that’s it! The total was only $8.00! Woo hoo! That made my thrifty little heart happy!

I can’t even call this a tutorial it’s so easy! Just open the packages, space the pom poms the way you want and add the pumpkins and black cats using the clothes pins, alternating as you go. I used the black ones for the pumpkins and the orange ones for the cats. I found that I only needed to use four of each since it seemed crowded with five. Now hang and enjoy!

Note...Just in case you can't find these supplies, here's an alternative method:
  1. Download the free pumpkin template here and cat template here. Cut 4 or 5 of each out of orange and black heavy card stock.
  2. String large orange and black pom poms on baker's twine, using a needle with a large eye, alternating colors...approximately 17 orange and 17 black.
  3. Spray paint 10 clothes pins... 5 orange and 5 black.
  4. Attach the cutouts to the pom pom garland with the clothes pins.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Easy $8 Halloween GarlandFor right now it’s on my mantel but it will eventually go on my front porch. I will add a wreath and let the grands do all the rest after choosing their decorations from the dollar store. We did this last year and it was such a success that they are already looking forward to this year! Me, too! :-)

And just in case you are looking for more easy ideas, here's my EASY HALLOWEEN PILLOW...made in 5 minutes for only $5.00! No kidding!

And here's one more easy and inexpensive idea for Halloween... my EASY FABRIC HALLOWEEN WREATH. If you can tie a knot, you can make it...really! It's that easy!

I am excited about Halloween this year. Can you tell? I have to say that the little grands make it fun! What about you? Are you thinking ahead, too?

Remember to pin it!
