And when I saw this photo in the Pottery Barn catalog, I knew that I had found what I was looking for! I love the color and the texture…so springy and fun!
And I just fell in love with this place setting…so festive and colorful…and decided to use it as a springboard for my tablescape this year!
Sooo…here is my version! I like to start out by playing with the place setting at first, then add in all the other details later. I think I am going to choose just the pretty pale aqua with white as my color scheme since my tablescape will be for a small group and I want a simple look this year.
But if you know me, then you know that I am not only a big fat copy cat, but I am also
1. Wicker charger from Walmart…$4.00 Pottery Barn…$19.50
2. Beaded trim dinner plate from Dollar Tree…$1.00 Pottery Barn…$12.00
3. Aqua salad plate from Pier 1…$7.00 Pottery Barn…$12.00
4. Ramekin from World Market…$2.00 Pottery Barn…$10.50
5. Small hobnail bowl from Pier 1…$2.00 Pottery Barn…$5.00
I had to cheat a little on #4 and use a plain white ramekin since I couldn’t find a pretty patterned salad plate like the one on the Pottery Barn site. I will have to give that one to Pottery Barn!
Note: I have been told that the charger is not available at many Walmarts. I did see a chunky version, more like the Pottery Barn charger but lighter in color, at my Walmart for only $3.00. They were located with the placemats. The bunny egg cups are also hard to find, since I think each store (in my area, at least) seems to have been issued only eight with only two of them being white. I keep checking and so far no more have arrived. However, I have found white bunny egg cups at World Market here.
Also on the Pottery Barn table…pretty matching napkins and cute white bunny egg cups! And…here are my versions. I couldn’t find any ready-made napkins that matched my dinnerware, so I opted to make my own, using fabric that I found at JoAnn. It was on sale, but you could always use a coupon. The savings continue!
Handmade napkin…$1.00 Pottery Barn…$7.00
Bunny egg cup from Walmart…$3.00 Pottery Barn…$8.50
Also on the table…my Pottery Barn inspired burlap-wrapped vases…easy and inexpensive to make from Dollar Tree vases! I have already shown you how I made my version here. I am loving the way this is looking!
Now…let’s add things up. Pottery Barn’s version is a grand total of $64.00 per place setting! My version adds up to $18.00….a big savings! And…I already had most of it, so the actual cost for me will be even less! Woo hoo!
Here’s another look. Not bad, huh? The colors are so soft and just say spring to me! And...I love all the texture!
Please stay tuned as I continue to build my Easter tablescape because I have a few more cost-saving tricks up my sleeve! You know how we love to think…err…outside the box here at the Plate Addict’s!
And just in case you missed them, be sure to check out my Pier 1 inspired burlap bunny ear napkin rings! Gotta love these because not only were they easy to make, they were free!
And even more inexpensive spring fun…my super easy burlap and dogwood spring wreath! See how I made it here.

I think your version is cuter than PB's, Debbie! I like your dishes and napkin better. Cute bunny, too.
ReplyDeleteTrying to fumble around and find the comments, I read the Tractor Supply Store post, and I so agree. I have found lots of great things there, and I love it.

Sorry about the run-on sentence. Trying to hurry before my battery goes out again!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE your version of PB's tablescape. I was in PB the other day and thought it was so pretty, and then saw the bunnies at Walmart...pink, yellow and green, but some were missing..hmmm could those be the white ones?. LOL I really like the turquoise salad plate and ramekin, and the adorable bunny ears napkin rings you made.. So cute.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, this looks so pretty and I love how you put your version together. Beautiful tablescape. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I am in awe! I was literally staring at this exact picture in the Pottery Barn catalog yesterday, calculating how much this would cost, and how I could never afford it. Yours looks amazing and I affordable! As soon as this ice storm is over I will be heading out so that I can copy you!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, and I like yours better - really.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your spring tablescape is adorable. The PB plates are pretty, but I think your stack of plates is more attractive. I love the soft color and textured details of the Pier I plates. I was tempted with some polka dot napkins I saw at the grocery store, but left them behind. My linen drawers are full! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your creative thrifty tablescape. Great job!
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post about price comparison and re~creating a look for less, dear friend!!!
I like yours better. It appears to a better combination of color palette and texture blends!
Love those litle bunny cups...gonna' have to check our Wal~Mart!
Of couse, "Mr. Handsome has taken my heart into the box with him.
That Baby Kitty is one handsome fellow!
Have a warm week ahead! We might get into the 50's on Thursday!!!

Oh, so very pretty! I love PB but not their prices. You've done a beautiful job at an awesome price!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You did a great job for a whole lot less money!!!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors! The textures are amazing and love the little bunny egg holder. Your copycat is wonderful. I love your napkins better also. Oh now I'm ready to get out my bunnies!!!

Debbie,
ReplyDeleteJob well done my friend. Gotta go check out those cute bunnies at Wal-Mart. I already have the white plates and chargers.
Blessings,

Great tablescape and much cheaper than Pottery barn. I will have to check out Walmart for those darling bunnies. I like your table better than PB.
ReplyDeleteMary
Gorgeous....Love those little bunny egg cups and the dishes you chose.
ReplyDeleteLove your version so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I totally messed up my comment!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I so appreciate your thriftiness and your inspiration. We all love the PB look, but don't want or can't afford the price. Thank you for your creativity and copycat version. Blessings!
We all love the PB LOOK but the prices are usually way out of range. I LOVE your table! I have some bunny napkin rings that I got after Easter last year at Pier 1 and I have aqua dishes! I love your napkins and can surely wrap some vases in burlap!! Thanks so much for so much inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteYour place setting is perfect in every way! Thanks for sharing all your price saving finds, too. I've looked for those chargers at WalMart, and the WalMart stores in our area don't have those. Hopefully soon, though! I can't wait to see your next table decor additions. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Just want you to know that I enjoy your blog so much and get so many affordable decorating ideas from you. Many of the blogs offer knock offs from designer brands but they look cheap and you can tell they went that route. Your ideas are always top notch! It is always a treat to see whats new here and besides I love your kitties. Thank you for sharing your creative ideas.

Very thrifty and also very beautiful. Now I am on the hunt for all these items. Isn't it amazing how a person can do the same thing and save so much money??
ReplyDeleteI looked at the PB version too and didn't want to spend the money. You have a perfect take on the look and at such a bargain. You know how much I love this color and you have carried it out.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, those aqua colors are so pretty. You did a fab job of creating the PB inspired table on a budget. And I also love your bunny ear napkin rings. How did you ever get so smart? laurie
ReplyDeleteUh oh...I think there's going to be a run on those bunny egg cups at Walmart...and I'll be leading the charge!!! :-) HOW CUTE!!! I don't get into Walmart very often, so I always end up missing out on cute bargains like this. I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow, though, so....!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou really did a fabulous job on this! PB always offers such terrific inspiration, and you just fell right into step with it! Congratulations on a job WELL DONE for less than 1/5th the price!!!
Love love love Debbie. Pinned and shared! I may just have to mimic for my table design for the spring. Obviously make some slight changes....but just love.
ReplyDeleteI always look to my Pottery Barn catalog for inspiration as well. You did a fantastic job replicating the look for ALOT less. I can't believe you got the cute bunny jar at Wal-Mart for $3.00! I think that's the best part.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Debbie. You have such great ideas. Thanks for passing them onto us.
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is just beautiful. Every bit as pretty and springy as Pottery Barns. I love your choice of dishes.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Debbie, I have just found your blog and love all of the creativity and time you take to show us how to do DIY project versus paying the high retail prices from the places we love to shop. I love Pottery Barn and Pier 1, but will stay tuned to see more of your lovely ides and projects!

Such a cute table! You did a fantastic job and have my wheels spinning. I haven't jumped and done the Easter table yet because in a few weeks we are getting carpet and the house will be a huge mess.

Very clever and I've absorbed every detail. Pottery Barn is my inspiration too and you've done a splendid job of recreating their look.
ReplyDeleteSam
