Finding French Farmhouse Style...at Walmart!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at WalmartWoot woot! BARGAIN ALERT! Have I got a surprise for you today! I couldn't believe my eyes when I found all of this galvanized frenchy goodness at…wait for it…(Oh, yeah, I already spilled the beans in the title)…WALMART! Woo hoo!

Ozzie I was Googling late last night…do you Google late at night, too?…and came upon such a fabulous surprise that my heart raced at the sight of these cheap thrifty finds! I do believe I whooped and hollered, too, much to the dismay of our CEO Ozzie who was snoring nearby! She’s giving me the evil eye today as you can see. Sooo…first thing this morning, I headed out to Walmart to find…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at Walmart …this fabulous galvanized bin with rope handles for…brace yourselves…a mere $10! No, you are not reading that incorrectly! The ones at Pottery Barn are half this size and cost three times as much!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at WalmartThere is a matching smaller bin at…try to keep breathing…only $7.00! Has your jaw dropped? Is your heart pounding at the thought of such a bargain? Then, you’d better be sure you are sitting down or have someone to catch you when I show you the next one…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at Walmart …a frenchy olive bucket for…hang on to your hats…not $65 like in the fancy antique malls…not even $55 like the supposedly great online deals…only $10! Yes…it’s true! Can you believe it? It’s not as big or heavy as the more expensive ones and doesn’t have the rust, but I am working on that part. Wait, wait…don’t rush out the door…keep reading!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at WalmartOnce I found the galvanized products at Walmart online here, I checked to see if they were in stock at my closest store…and they were not. I had to drive about 15 minutes to another one not too far away to find them. But the good news is that even if your store doesn’t have them, they will ship free of charge to the store and you can pick them up there. And…Walmart isn’t even paying me to say this! You know how I love a good bargain…and this one is great!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Style...from Tractor Supply I have discovered that French farmhouse style is everywhere if you just keep your eyes peeled and use your imagination. And I am getting really good at spotting it in unusual places, like at Tractor Supply Company. You can read all about that find here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Style...from IKEAI also found a way to do vintage French farmhouse linens using 79 cent IKEA dish towels. You can get the details, plus the no-sew monogram transfer courtesy of The Graphics Fairy by clicking here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT French Farmhouse Style...from World Market And back in the spring, I showed you the bargain French bottle drying rack that I found at Cost Plus World Market for only $15 instead of the hefty $55 and waaay up at other places. Woo hoo! You can get the details here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Finding Farmhouse Style at WalmartSooo…here’s another look at my bargain farmhouse décor. Woot woot! Eventually, it will find its way back into the toile bedroom that I am in the process of re-doing for my grandson. But I think for now it will stay on my table as a sort of precursor-to-fall centerpiece. And besides…it makes me smile just to look at it! Now…you can run on off to get yours! :-) And...you’re welcome!

I was not compensated in any fashion nor am I associated in any way with Walmart, Tractor Supply Company, Cost Plus World Market or Ikea. I just like their stuff.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed having a little peek at my farmhouse finds! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

  10. Here's another secret. Really, kind of a "repeat secret". Two years ago I got an idea in my head and it just wouldn't leave. I wanted a HUGE galvanized tub to set my Christmas tree in. My husband thought I was crazy. Couldn't imagine it. My boys thought I was insane. Thought it would look "stupid", I believe is the word they used. I looked everywhere only to find it, in the end, 2 miles from my house @ TSC. I LOVE it. I think it was under $40. So, there's another idea for you:):) I'm glad I followed my heart on this one and, by the way, all three of the guys ended up thinking it looked kind of cool. I love you blogs and posts and ideas. Thank you!!!!

  23. Great! I hit Walmart for low baskets to use for drawer organizers in the kitchen, thanks to a hint from another blog: http://fortheloveofahouse.blogspot.com/2013/08/kitchen-drawers-sink-side.html. (not mine)

Each store I went to only had 4, so I had to go to a couple. They are 5.85 each or something like that. Now I must go back and look for what I missed! (Some exec somewhere can't figure out why there's a run on tin and baskets...)

  24. I'll be checking our Walmart tomorrow. Thanks for sharing these great finds.

  25. Oh, yeah...Walmart executives are scratching their heads wondering why all the shipping of tin items! Too funny, but true, Simone. Great buys and such a great friend to let us all in on the sources...

Now, I'll be watching for all my blogger friends to have THEIR great olive buckets, tin baskets, and cup holders in their upcoming posts. I'm sure these great finds will be lurking in the background, if not center stage! What fun!

  29. Someone, of course I don't remember who, posted about these beauties about a month ago, I went online to find them, took forever on the Walmart website only to find that they were sold out. Perhaps I should search again:) I also saw a pretty wooden lamp in BH&G this month that is supposed to be available at WM.com in mid September. I want to check that out too. I could use a couple of new lamps. Au revoir Debbie.

  30. Wow Debbie, how exciting to find these great items at fantastic prices. You know, you should listen to the CEO before Whooping it up late at night. They do have a tendency to give us the evil eye the next morning, LOL!!

  35. This morning I walked into Walmart and in moments had the small bin and the olive bucket in my carraige. They were both marked $7.00! Never do I read blogs late at night but was playing insomniac last night and you were right there to keep me company and show us that surprise!
When you found the milk carrier at Tractor Supply I tried 3 of them here in mid Florida but none had them and I couldn't find them online. Oh well......
Thanks for keeping us shopping and happy, Debbie!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank you, Debbie - I'll be checking the bucket out momentarily! But I also wanted to tell you that I recently made tea towels with your latest two transfers - the rooster, and camembert label. Edged them with rickrack in colors taken from the transfer. Love them! I appreciate the inspiration!

  49. Oh WalMart - it has been a looonnnngggg time since they have had anything remotely fun to buy for the house. I love your finds! Our WalMart has huge mums in reproduction metal olive buckets for $13.98! I just about fell over when I was in the garden department and found them Such a deal. I bought one, but have been longing for more. Worth the price for the olive bucket alone. Sadly, none of your fun goodies have reached our area yet. Thanks for sharing! Jane

  50. I feel like a fool - I just ordered two antique olive buckets at a steep price because I had given up on finding repros. I learned the bargains at Tractor Supply last year. I have even found cute clothing there.

  51. Cute ideas! Thanks for the inspiration. I could use all the looks here at Still Woods Farmhouse! I think I need to check out Walmart soon. I am visiting from Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and am a new follower of yours. I wold love for you to stop by Still Woods Farmhouse for a visit and to follow along.

  56. Wow! I'm at Walmart at least twice a week for groceries, so I will have to look for these items. For the price, they would also make wonderful containers for gifts! Garden supplies would be cute in them or baked breads, cookies etc in the square containers for teacher gifts. I already have the real deal olive bucket and a set of 3 trays with rope handles, but love the look for less. Thanks so much for sharing!
