I simply filled my little Mason jar collection…comprised mostly of {free} spaghetti sauce jars…with Dollar Tree votive holders and candles and surrounded them with summery sea shells…a fun Goodwill find.
I centered them on a wicker tray covered with burlap and added a little sand, more sea shells and a starfish to complete the summery look. Won’t this make a fun centerpiece at my family’s Memorial Day picnic? And if the jars look familiar, it’s because…
...I have mason jar candles for every season!
I first showed them to you in the fall, filled with acorns for a Pottery Barn Mason jar copy cat look. You can see more here, including a quick tutorial on adding the wire so that they can be hung.
And then you saw them again at Christmas, filled with cranberries and boxwood sprigs. I really liked the one in the center with the floating candle! You will find a complete tutorial for my Christmas Mason jar candles by clicking here.
And more recently, I showed you my Peeps Mason jar candles for spring…maybe my favorite! These were super easy and fun to make! You can see more of them here.
And now I have my oh-so-beachy summer Mason jar candles for you to see! Hey…that means I have created Mason jar candles for every season! But…now I am not so sure…the summer candles may be my new favorites! And you know it’s a sure sign that summer can’t be too far away when we start pulling out our sea shells to add to our decor!
And at my house…another sure sign…the pot of catnip is back on the patio! And it is caged again this year so that our naughty neighbor can’t tear it out before the staff even has one chew or rub. Our Miss Kitty is very happy to see that! Can you hear her? She is saying “Nanny nanny boo boo!” because she knows there will be plenty of fresh catnip for the staff!
How about you? Are you seeing signs of summer at your house?

Oh yes! I have all those saved sauce jars too. I use them for everything. Very cute idea and I love the tip about putting the candle inside a class votive. That solves my melted candle problem. Going back now to learn the wire thingy.

Debbie, you have gotten so much use out of those jars, and every one of your candle creations looks so pretty. You are way ahead of me. I haven't even thought about summer decor yet. We've had too many cold days this Spring that I can't believe Spring has come and almost gone. Great idea with the sea shells. laurie

ReplyDeleteLove this idea for Summer mason jar candles...
just purchased a blue mason jar with a glass lid
during our Antique Mall/ Flea Market outing!
Now, Miss Kitty...you do know, my Grandma always said,
"Honey...you can catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar!"
However, I agree that you and the Staff should have
the first taste of Cat Nip for the Season!!!
Fondly,
Pat
