My {Super Cheap} Pottery Barn Inspired Spring Wreath

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Spring WreathI have a confession…I am addicted to wreaths! I am sure that you know about my plate addiction…and you probably already know about my pillow addiction...but I have to confess that I have a wreath addiction as well. :-) I have one on the inside and outside of every exterior door…not to mention an attic full just waiting their turn! Sooo…when I saw a spring wreath at Pottery Barn, I knew it would be perfect for the inside of my front door!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Supplies And you probably also know that I am a big fat copy-cat, so with the help of our lovely CEO Miss Ozzie, I checked my stash to see what I had on hand. This one is going to be super easy and inexpensive! Let’s see…Easter eggs…check, twig wreath…check! All I needed was a few stems of faux pussy willow (three, in fact) and…woo hoo!…they were on sale at Hobby Lobby for under $2.50 each!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT WreathFirst step…cut the pussy willow stems to the correct length and work them into the wreath at an angle. There are already little wires holding it together, so I just slipped the end of the stem under it and then bent them to follow the curve of the wreath.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Spring Wreath2 Next step…hot glue the Easter eggs to the wreath in a random color pattern, varying sizes and angles as you go. I had to use the high temperature setting and hold the eggs until the glue set. Be careful…those hot glue burns hurt!  Ouch! My eggs came from Hobby Lobby as well…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Easy Spring Wreath   …and were left over from this super-easy spring wreath that I made earlier. You can find a tutorial for making it here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired Spring Wreath Square And…taaa daaa…here it is! I love it! And best of all, I spent $7.50 on mine instead of the $79 for the Pottery Barn version…and that makes me very happy! :-)

  6. Looks like Miss Ozzie has to check everything out that you are doing. The wreath is beautiful and looks great. I also love wreaths but only hang on front door (outside). Will have to start putting on inside of door. Great post - thanks so much.

  12. Debbie, you are the Queen of knock offs! Baby Kitty has nothing on you! Seriously, very cute and may be an inspiration for a Hobby Lobby road trip. I can not understand why anyone would pay nearly $80 for the PB look alike.

  15. I love it when we can figure out a way to copy an outrageously priced item for a little of nothing. You did a wonderful job reproducing it and yours is just as beautiful!

  27. Debbie, this wreath puts the PB one to shame!!! I love it. And you did get a great deal on the pussy willows. The real ones are selling around here for a very high price, and if you ever bring real ones into your house you will find that the little catkins drop everywhere! Wonderful job and inspiring as well! Linda
