As usual, I am assisted by my co-host Baby Kitty…who was distracted by the birds at the back yard feeder!
As you can see, there are three different candles so I will show you one by one how to make them. Easy peasy!
The first one is the simplest…just a candle in a pint Mason jar (held in place with a wax button…found at World Market) surrounded by fresh cranberries. I finished it off with some twine around the mouth and a sprig of boxwood. Fun!
The second look uses a votive holder in the bottom of a quart Mason jar (Although if you look closely, you will see it says Barilla…spaghetti sauce jar…free! lol) surrounded by fresh cranberries. And if it looks familiar…
…it’s because it’s the same jar I used in my Pottery Barn inspired fall Mason jar candles! You can find a complete tutorial for adding the wire handles by clicking here.
But I think this one is my favorite! I was inspired by a similar candle that I found on Pinterest from a British home decor magazine and decided to try my hand at it. I have to tell you a secret…this is not as easy as it looks because boxwood sprigs float! I used a small nut from my tool drawer as a weight and attached it to the sprigs with white thread. Problem solved! Then just add a floating candle and some cranberries!
And there you have them…my Mason jar Christmas candles! The cost…virtually free since I had everything on hand! I am going to enjoy these! And…I have some more easy Christmas ideas that I will be showing you because if you know me, you know I am all about fun, easy and practically free projects!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my Christmas candles! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

Very pretty Debbie. You really can't beat that look. I have a stash of jars that I'll be using for the same thing.
ReplyDeleteWow, Debbie, I love these simple but elegant candles, and I think your idea about anchoring the boxwood was brilliant. We have plenty of that around here. Thanks for another great idea.
ReplyDeleteDebbie I love the use of cranberries this time of year and these candles are right up my alley....easy and inexpensive and extra cute! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteThis just proves that beautiful decorations don't have to be costly. Great ideas, Debbie, and thank you for sharing. I might give these a whirl.

I've done the taper and votive version, but I've never done the floating candle! That's my favorite too! I'm going to try it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love them all but that last one is my favorite, too. Great idea with weighting the boxwood- xo Diana

Pretty, Debbie. I'm going to do this in my aqua Ball jars. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI love the look of candles in a jar! Yours are lovely. I use a candle in a jar that has been sprayed with a little bit of snow. {The jar, not the candle!} Thanks for sharing and would love to have you link this up to my HOME party on Wednessday. That is one adorable Baby Kitty! Enjoy your day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Love the natural and vintage look of your jars and candles! So fun!

Your homemade candles are beautiful. I like the rustic look too. They would suit our home perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so festive. I love it. You have a way with glass and wax, just like you do with fabric.
ReplyDeleteI just made the one with the floating candle, and it came out great. I'm bringing it to the office this morning to cheer up a co-worker. Thank you for this tip! I am visiting from Stonegable's party.
