There they were…calling my name! I saw them across the Goodwill store as I came in the door! I couldn’t believe my eyes..a pair of beautiful frenchy urns! I practically ran over and scooped them up. Oh, my! Aren’t they lovely? And what I really like is that they aren’t identical. And best of all…there was a pair of them! My friend Linda at Nina’s Nest can tell you I have a thing for pairs!
Look at the detail! Each of the little paintings on both of the urns is different! None of them are alike! Sooo…what do you think? Hand painted? Do I dare to believe that? And they were only $15 each…maybe a little more than I like to spend, but well worth it!
And that’s not my only great find! Just look at this little doggy clock! Isn’t it gorgeous? Once again, fabulous details! And he was only $9.00! I think his original price was much more than that.
Look at him! Isn’t he cute? Now I know you are wondering what my staff must think…bringing home a dog…
…and this should give you some idea of Baby Kitty’s opinion! lol
He is much too preoccupied with the flock of birds feeding on my front lawn to notice! Or perhaps he is feigning indifference!
Sooo…what to do with a wonderful doggy clock and two fabulous frenchy urns?
You put them on your mantel! I stacked the urns on some vintage books to give them some presence and centered the vignette around the wreath planter that I found a few weeks ago. My home is not formal and I like the contrast of the chippy white planter. I have also added my little frenchy boy that I have shown you before…another GW find at $3.00.
In fact, the entire vignette is made up of thrifting finds! Not bad, huh? That’s my kitchen that you can see in the reflection. In fact, I need to head in that direction to find a few catnip treats. Maybe that will help me get back in Baby Kitty’s good graces!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my mantel! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

Those urns are wonderful and so you! I must admit that I love the doggy clock but Charlie might not appreciate it! Good finds my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW. Those urns would have been screaming my name too. My friend that goes garage sale shopping with me gives me a hard time because I'll scan the place and head straight for something. She always says she's going to lock me in the vehicle until she has a look. lol

Debbie, they are beautiful!! Can't believe your good luck, I think the 15 each is an awesome price! Doggie clock is precious.
ReplyDeleteThat does it...I have got to take a vacation in Georgia to go shopping at GW! I can't believe the things you find, Debbie. Those urns are beautiful...I love the muted aqua. The little dog clock is adorable. Oh, and Baby Kitty is handsome, but you already knew that...
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie, I love the urns and the clock. You found some fabulous treasures. I really like the way you have them all arranged on the mantel also. I think your GW has some of the neatest things. Gorgeous. I hope you have a super weekend. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDebbie, here I go again, but honestly you find the BEST buys at your Goodwill. ;-) The urns were meant to find their way to your mantel, and the doggie clock is too cute for words. Every home (even those with cats) needs a doggie of some sorts. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see what treasures you find when out and about. You obviously have a great eye!
Happy Weekend! ~ Sarah
It looks like those urns were made for your mantel. All great finds.
ReplyDeleteThose are terrific finds...and if I can't go to Paris, I would settle for going thrifting with you :)
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to get such great finds. I love how it all looks on the mantle. Hope Baby Kitty doesn't knock over the new doggie! Better stock up on treats.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you found such a beautiful deal......
ReplyDeleteLove those urns, and your mantel is awesome! I like how you used all your GW finds (the adorable little french boy is perfect there) and mixed the shabby chic planter for the contrast. Great decorating!
Hope your day is great......

Love your new goodies. Richard at My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I know it's hard to believe, but the mantel is one place I never move things around for some reason. Well, I know the reason. It's in my "husband's man cave" and I don't mess with his stuff.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
awesome finds...
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteYou find the best "stuff". Those urns are absolutely gorgeous.
Have a wonderful week!
Carol
OMG, those urns are so beautiful, Debby! I cannot believe anybody will let them go...Christine

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Debbie. The urns are wonderful! Love the mantel and the new pup, too.:-)
ReplyDeleteThose are fantastic finds, Debbie! I would have got them for that price, too. They look great on your mantel with your chippy white planter.
ReplyDeleteParlez vous jealous!!!!! Wonderful finds!!
ReplyDelete"Parlez vous jealous" LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteSo true...we ALL wish we could shop along side of you. Stuff that I might foolishly walk right past seems to fit into your scheme beautifully! You have a great eye, Debbie, for style & charm.
Pat the kitties for me, okay? I miss rubbing soft, fluffy fur babies.
Hugs,
Rett

ReplyDeletePat
Gorgeous...but I adore the dog clock....you ever get tired of him, let me know!!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Oh, what wonderful finds! Those urns are gorgeous and the little doggy clock is adorable. Baby Kitty must be too interested in what's going on outside. If he decides he doesn't like your clock - he'll just hop up on your mantle and knock it off! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Oh my gosh, when I saw your two pieces from Goodwill my jaw dropped! I have two pieces made just the same way on my mantle! They have the same kind of hand painted finish, with the crackled look. I won't tell you what I paid, but you got yourself one he.. of a deal! Check mine out..

Hi Debbie. Gosh those french urns are gorgeous, what a fantastic find!! Your doggy clock is cute BUT your cats are adorable!!! I absolutely love the way you represent them here :D
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, Jannet
Those urns are really fabulous. What a great find. Thanks for sharing at my Swing into Spring party.
ReplyDeleteYou are the thrifting queen Debbie! I feel like I often times find good things, but your finds are off the charts! Beautiful urns, and I too love your dog clock. Oh yes, I bring in a few dog things now and then. We actually have a dog, but it's cats I'm crazy about.
ReplyDeleteHow all is well with the new little baby. :)
Donna
Magnifique!!!! Your GW must put stuff out when the store is closed. The one by my house put things out about 2 hours after the doors open and the poor people putting the stuff out almost get mobbed.

Visiting from Shabby Chic Cottage and I spotted that circular topiary. I used to have one! Exactly the same but it had a few red berries on it from Target. I LOVED that thing! And I sold it a few years ago when I changed decor. I'm kicking myself now that I've gone back to the shabby chic/cottage look. Seeing this brought back memories. I bought it when I got married to decorate our house! Thanks for bringing back a happy memory! Your finds, your mantle looks beautiful!
