I seem to be having a love affair with blue and white right now! It’s nothing new. I have loved that color combination for a long time…it just makes me smile! So after Christmas, I decided that all of my favorites could come out of my rotation closet (do you have one of those? lol) where they have been patiently waiting for their return!
This time I was inspired by Charles Faudree! I don’t know about you, but I think he’s the man! Whenever I make a change in my decor, I pull out his books and study them first…what to put on the mantel or how to arrange my coffee table. This lovely collection is pictured in his book Country French Living.
More Charles Faudree…from Meredith Books Great Country French Style! Just look at this fabulous display of blue and white china! Now I am on the hunt for several great platters to add to my collection. For me, his style is true classic Country French. I am always inspired by his designs!
So with his style in mind, I decided to rearrange my hutch with some of my blue and white collection. I also added some silverplate pieces to lighten things up a little…and I wanted to show off my recent finds!
The shelves of my hutch are very narrow, so I chose my new Goodwill hunting trophies…a dozen silver plate punch cups…to add a little variety in height and some sparkle. You may remember that I only paid $4.54 for all twelve! My Spode Blue Room plates are serving as the backdrop. I found them at TJ Maxx and Ross several years ago and paid about $4.00 each.
I love my Blue Willow tureen! It serves as an anchor piece on the lowest shelf. It was half price at a going-out-of-business sale for a little shop in Lawrenceville, Georgia. And, once again, you can see our co-host Baby Kitty’s reflection in the silverplate tray! It’s one of a pair that I showed you previously…at $5.00 each!
Here’s one of my vintage silverplate coffee carafes that I showed you previously...a GW steal at $3.93! Its twin is holding down the other end of the shelf. I also added a few pieces from my Red Cliff ironstone collection…such as this wonderful coffee pot with a grape motif…
…and its matching sugar and creamer. The sugar was an unbelievable Goodwill find at $2.52! Woo hoo!
I also added several of my Oriental style tea pots…love their unusual shapes!
And…I finally found a pair of Staffordshire style dogs in my favorite colors! They have taken their place on my blue and white mantel!
However…with spring just around the corner and the first of the daffodils blooming…
…Baby Kitty suggested that I might want to add a few pops of my other favorite color…yellow!
So some sunny Provençal sunflowers and lemons were added to the buffet…along with some of my vintage silverplate and more blue and white. It is so nice to see some bright colors! I just hope our local groundhog General Beauregard Lee was right because I am sooo ready for spring! What about you?
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my blue and white treasures! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

ReplyDeleteSo amazing! The silver is a wonderful compliment to the blue and white. The deals you got are just mind blowing!! I wish my daffodils were in bloom, soon, soon I have to be patient!
ReplyDeleteThat Baby Kitty is so smart and really has an eye for color! Happy Weekend Debbie:@)
ReplyDeleteI just love yellow and blue together. Your pictures are much better than the book pictures. Those silver cups were a steal. Don't you feel bad, I mean great! You have the best ever GW.
ReplyDeleteOh and by the way... "and then my heart with pleasure fills and dances with the daffodils" Just had to add that too.
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart!!! I am in love with all of your new pieces to the collection. You know I just love this color combination of blue/white plus yellow! Love how you added the cups in for a "punch" of glitz and shine. :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteit looks great Debbie...I love the added yellow...especially the sunflowers..they are one of my favorite flowers...
ReplyDeletelove the blue and silver together! and oh yes I remember those cups you got! I see baby kitty sits on the table like my cat does.
ReplyDeleteHey Debbie...I am in love with this post! I have blue and yellow in my kitchen and so wish I had a nice display space like yours. You have such a touch with arranging everything. You should be a professional stager! Well done. I think I'm going to get a few pieces of my silver out and polish it up. You have inspired me...thanks~Ann
ReplyDeleteDebbie - what a feast for the eyes, girl! Your hutch is just gorgeous! I have never thought of adding the silver to the blue and white, but it really does brighten up the blue and white, and the silver punch cups were just the right size to balance off the trays. I REALLY, REALLY love this look - way to go! You are making me want to give my white hutch a blue & white look for spring! Linda
ReplyDeleteThe lemons look so lovely with the blue and whites! Gorgeous collection, I have had the same love affair with blue and white!
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness,,,such gorgeous eye candy!! Blue and White is a favorite of mine too!! I think I may dedicate my guest room to all blue and white...great inspiration!
ReplyDeletehave my mother's collection and I just love it all. Your dining room looks amazing and I adore the soup tureen!

ReplyDeleteDebbie
ReplyDeleteI love this post, the blue and white and Charles Faudree!
i have a blue willow mini tea set from when i was child. i should try this display. thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOh I too have a rotation china closet (well, not a closet only a storage hutch), and I've pulled some of my china and put a fresh look on my kitchen hutch. Your blue willow is spectacular. I had blue willow in my dining room cabinet then changed it out for my Quimper Soleil for a fresh look, umm now maybe the blue willow needs to return. Thanks, love, love your pictures.

You have a beautiful collection of blue and white, Debbie, and the silver really completes the look. Love the punch cups! Wonderful idea to add some flowers and lemons!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
XO,
Jane
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteYes I too used my Rotation Closet right after Christmas. However with my "Blue Ware" I used brass candlesticks, trays, etc for a warmer feeling. But i think now for spring like you it's time for the silver pieces to come out! And I just noticed my forsythia is just staring to pop out. Now I need a big silver vase for it! Good Will here I come!!!
Love your blue and white! So very pretty with the silver and white ironstone. I am going to set up some shelves for a rotation closet. I'm bringing out all my green items right now. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI adore French Country! The newest additions to your collection are stunning! . . .and at bargain prices!!! Great bargain shopping! Baby Kitty is such a darling to aid you in your decor changes! The blue hue has certainly brighten up your lovely hutch! Thank you for sharing this lovely blue and white post!
Fondly,
Pat
Debbie, you know you have me smiling BIG. Absolutely love the new rotation. Yes, I have one of those closets too. It's fun to change things up and actually helps me notice things again. You new silver finds are great, and I like the way you added them in with the blue and white. This post makes me want to play around with what is on our Welsh dresser. I think it's time for a change. You are always offer up wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend. ~ Sarah
Debbie I love everything!! And Charles Faudree is my design idol! That tureen is a wonderful piece to work with...and such deals my friend!! Vanna
ReplyDeleteYou know you can't go wrong with blue and white for me Debbie! All your pieces are delightful.
ReplyDeleteSid sends her love to 'the staff'!
Have a great weekend.

Hi Debbie, I'm also a big fan of "Charles". Love the way he mixes fabrics, textures, furniture pieces of every style shape and color and all keeping within that French/English design. His books are just wonderful! And I'm loving the rotation closet idea. I have all of my stuff all over the place. I might just need to think about this one!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pieces and inspiration! I've been thinking about adding a few blue/white pieces into my decor. Now, if it would only turn out as beautifully as yours has! Thanks for sharing, Becca
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, your co host Baby Kitty is looking adorable as usual. Your fanatstic blue and white collection reminds me of an adorable shop I used to go to when in Danville, California. The shop "Elegant Clutter" had a French Country dining room section with table settings and hutches full of blue and white china paired with yellow flowers and lemons. I used to just love to go there and stand in the middle of the room and drool!
I LOVE this post! Blue and white is my favorite, and I'm a huge Charles Faudree fan. I had the pleasure of meeting him years ago, when he was autographing one of his books. We chatted about our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and he and his dog autographed my book to my dog and me! A delightful gentleman. btw- your photography is beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is beautiful Debbie! (I dropped by for a long overdue visit & was delighted to see your treasures.) ☺♥☺
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a bit like a loser because I didn't know who Charles Faudree was. I will investigate now. Your blue and white is gorgeous. I've always loved the combination and used lots of blue and white in the 80's, but I got rid of it when we changed homes. Who knew I'd be blogging and tablescaping? I really love the white ironstone...that is what I'm on the lookout for right now!
ReplyDeleteDebbie - you have some gorgeous pieces, and what bargains. The pop of yellow is perfect!
ReplyDeleteNow you'll have to look for some kitties now you have the dogs!!
That Charles sure had style. I love the platters and that cake...well, now I'm hungry. I love the white coffee pot and Baby Kitty. He styles up any picture. Your hutch looks fantastic. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I DO love your blue and white and with a pop of yellow, too and those punch cups are the cutest with their little curvy handles. You lucky thing finding those at GW!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that Charles Faudree is "the man" when it comes to French country decor.
Please give Baby Kitty an "ear scratch" for all his hard work on the camera shots. :)
Have a great Sunday.
I just adore it Debbie!
ReplyDeleteBlue and white and a pop of yellow, my fave combo ever!
I never will tire of it!
I like change like you but I am always drawn back to this combo~
You have so many great pieces!
That soup tureen is fabulous!
Have a great week!
And I bet your getting excited about the new grandchild on the way!
I sure love Grandma-hood!
Cindy
Question for you please - I had never seen these silver & glass coffee carafes before. I fell in love with yours and notice several for sale on ebay. One person commented that when full - they are tipsy on their stand. Another person commented that the rim of the silver bases crack. I am wondering what your experience has been and do you think the cracks would be a problem? Thanks Karen
ReplyDeleteYou have such a gorgeous collection of blue and white, I would want to show it off all the time. Love those silver punch cups, what a find! And the pops of yellow are my favorite, I'm planning on adding some yellow to the guest room to punch up the blue and white. Beautiful display Deb! Hugs, Kat
ReplyDeleteHi Karen...Of my two, one of the bases is cracked and appears to be International Silver. I have used it that way and it has not been a problem. The other one is fine and seems to be made of a heavier metal. Its mark appears to say Raimond. I haven't noticed that either is tipsy on the base. They are both also flat on the bottom and stand feely without the base. They are readily found in thrift stores if you have access and the going price around here seems to be $12. I hope that helps!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteDid you have to show me your silver cups again and make mne jealous, Debbie? LOL! I just love them and love all everything you created here....Christine
ReplyDeleteI adore blue and white, Debbie. Your addition of the silver very complimentary to your display. Baby Kitty's suggestion of the pop of yellow was a good one. It's always nice to have assistants.
ReplyDeleteDebbie -- your blue and white look is gorgeous! I love the silver mixed in -- it's all so elegant. Baby Kitty is always standing by for assistance! LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Oh, Baby Kitty is so smart! The yellow looks wonderful with your blue and white. You are truly a wonderful student - you learn, observe and create! Love your lovely hutch!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie and have a wonderful week,
Shelia ;)
Your collection is really stunning. I am a huge fan of blue and white and I love the deep cobalt against your beautiful dark stained hutch. I also love how blue and white is so classic that all the different patterns just seem to work together.
ReplyDeleteLove your blue and white! The silver and yellow are great with it too~Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI am also a big fan of "Charles", and you have honored him with your Blue and White display. Lovely collection. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love these pictures and the blue and white. Just beautiful!

Love the way you set up the display Debbie, and love the Oriental style tea pots. Especially the one in the upper right hand corner that looks like a donut!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blue and white collection. Very lovely decorating style. What an eye for details.

Hi Debbie, You may have been my #1 Blue Inspiration! I have never had blue in my house but have grown to love it. Trying to remember if you say my blue tablescape last week. It does make me so happy. Your displays are fabulous. At first I thought your picture was your rotation closet, then I realized it as shelves from a book. :) Yes, I do have a rotation closet and I would never show a picture of it. Pretty, pretty.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Oh my, you have such a beautiful collection! I don't have many blue and white DISHES, just decorative pieces. I love your hutch and you have inspired me to CHANGE mine for Spring?Summer! Thanks!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your collection and your inspiration. Blue and white is by far my favorite. It's about time I pull out more of mine. You've inspired me! I recently discovered Charles Faudree and love his books too. Of course I love blue, yellow, and white together since I had a bedroom in those colors for years. Your plates are very pretty, and I like you you didn't make it too overdone with the blue by adding the silver.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about Charles Faudree. He IS the man!
ReplyDeleteYour hutch looks so beautiful with all of your treasures. And your assistant stylist did such a nice job with the touches of yellow!

Love it ALL! I love Charles too. When I was forced to get rid of piles of decorating magazines I had saved over the years, I went through and tore out all articles with his decorating in them to save them. You are inspirational too.
