I am joining Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday this week to share some pictures of my grandson’s visit to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia! Be sure to drop by her beautiful blog to see more mosaics and to find out how to play along!
The purpose of our visit was to see Monet’s water lilies, as I explained in an earlier post, but we took advantage of our day there to check out the permanent collection, too! When we stepped out of the elevator on the floor showcasing modern art, he exclaimed very enthusiastically …"Blobs of art!!"
Of course, I loved seeing it all through my grandson’s eyes, but there were things for me, too!! I loved the antique English china! And yes, that’s a frog peeking out of that overturned mug! Can you imagine the surprise?? lol What a fun day!
I hope you enjoyed my mosaics! Thanks for dropping by! Be sure to head on over to Mary’s too see more interesting examples from this week’s participants! See you next time! A la prochaine!
Hi Debbie! I do like your mosaics! How fun to see your grand enjoying all the wonderful sights! And you, Ms. Dishaholic, look at these lovelies!

Debbie, your mosaics are always so fun to look at. You do such a great job. Your day with your grandson was such a precious day. His description of the art just kills me. That's kind of how I feel about it. So glad you got to see the pretty dishes too. Hugs, Marty

What a fun day! Your little man is so adorable. I told DH about his "blobs" comment and he said he would have to tell his boss, he feels exactly the same way! This looks like a fabulous museum, and what a great way to beat the heat. Hugs, Kat
ReplyDeleteBlobs of art... hahahaha! Love it. Kids are SO descriptive.
ReplyDeleteGreat mosaic, very creative. I am totally smitten by that white plate in your dish mosaic. Amazing.
Cass
What a wonderful idea to create a mosaic of your trip to the museum with your grandson.
ReplyDeleteI love your plate mosaic, since I am a plate addict myself. Oh, and I love your music.
Karen
it looks like a great day to share!!! I like this last photo...that plate is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I loved seeing your grandson perform in front of the mirror! He was quite intent on checking out all of those blobs and studying them... I particularly like the lips... Your mosaics are lovely today. The china piece w/the frog is a hoot.
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean about neighbors who don't mow. We had 2 in the past who never took care of the yard. We actually ended up mowing the space between our yards and the front boulevard. My neighbor is a very nice lady- I just don't know why she even asked?! Actually, up until this year, her yard was the scourge of the neighborhood. Dead grass, half taken out trees, weeds and cr#@ everywhere. ICK! They have now spent about 50 grand on it and it finally looks good. They have someone cut twice a week and have a service for weeding! Go figure. LOL
Have a good week. Sue
I enjoyed looking at your mosaics and the surprise trip you gave me to the High Museum! We were near there this weekend, too....
ReplyDeleteYou have a pretty place here. I'm looking forward to visiting again, so I can look around a bit longer.
Roban
How cute! I love how children can perfectly describe something with words we'd never think of using. I love the "Blobs of Art" expression! He is so cute and obviously enjoying himself so much. What wonderful memories you two will have, and such a fabulous grandmother to take him to the museum. OOOOO, that china!! Lovin' that - no "blobs" there (except possibly that fish!) laurie
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been in a few years but really want to see the Monet exhibit! Your Grandson looks like he's enjoying the "blobs of art!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Fun mosaic of blobs! lol The plates must have been a nice surprise. Love the lattice one.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - What fun mosaic! Blobs! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI think that lace plate is just to die for - omg I must find one somewhere!
It is always a pleasure to stop by your blog
Deb
I was just going to enlarge the photo to see what the heck that was in the mug. Unexpected in a gallery I think. People always think of them as being stuffy and proper. Nice to see some whimsy too.
