Outdoor Wednesday...or...A Bug's Eye View: Part Deux

It’s time for Outdoor Wednesday with our gracious hostess, Susan at A Southern Daydreamer! Be sure to stop by her beautiful blog for some wonderful Southern scenery and to find a list of this week’s participants.

IMG_6884 I have discovered the digital macro feature on my camera, a Canon Power Shot SD 630, and I want to share with you some photos I took of my lantana! Stand back!

  4. Debbie, these shots brought back a rush of childhood memories. I grew up in south Texas where lantana plants flourish. As a child I always loved them because their clusters of blooms were like little bouquets. The colors made me think of little pieces of candy. Wonderful photos and music! Thank you!

  12. Great job, Debbie!! Someone told me aboiut the macro setting awhile ago and i have been trying to pass myself off as a professional photographer ever since! ;-)

    The 3rd picture is really awesome in an unusual way. Your lantana is a wonderful subject. Love the ant!!

  13. LOL! I know about those instructions, Debbie. My mother actually cross stitched something for me as a young woman that said, "If at first you don't succeed, follow instructions!" ;-)

    I'm glad you found that new feature because I am totally enjoying your new pictures. They are wonderful!

  15. I love Lantana... did you know it's a native Texas wildflower? One of the few things that make it through the heat and drought of summers here... I think yours is called "Carnival"... but I could be wrong... just beautiful... gotta get me one of those Cannons!

    Its true-- the adventure you are embarking on when you have a new toy like a better camera can be exhilerating.

  27. Debbie, I have a Cannon Power Shot SD 880 and the very best photos are the macros. I'm not as happy with my distance shots as the wonderful fun macros! Beautiful, I can see you are having fun too.
