Today I am revisiting one of my favorite posts…my sunny spring tablescape. And I am betting you will recognize some of the photos because they have become my signature…
…my blue and white plates topped with green pears! They were taken in March, 2009…when I had only been blogging for about 4 months. The afternoon sun was pouring in through the Palladian window, creating interesting shadows.
If you were blogging then, I am sure you will recognize the bunny on a stick! lol They were all the rage! I don’t think Pier One could keep them in stock. And…do you know that they still have them? Yep. I saw them again just the other day!
At the center, one of my favorites…my pumpkin-shaped tureen. I love those funny legs and the handles! And…peeking in from the left…those infamous Target birdie salt and pepper shakers that even got their own linky party! (One of my favorite posts ever!)
But my favorite photos were…and still are…of my wonderful pierced blue and white plates topped by spring green pears! You will recognize them from my header.
Each one is different. I later found candlesticks to match this one.
I think this one is the prettiest because, unlike the others, the center is not white, but patterned.
However, this photograph is my all-time favorite. I love the effect of the shadows…creating a lacy pattern on the white plate underneath. Yes…this one is me…my avatar, the little photo image that represents me!
And finally…here’s a look at the whole tablescape, with the afternoon sun pouring in across the table, bringing back memories of an earlier spring day. Ahhh! Come on, Spring! We are waiting!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Beautiful Debbie! Those bunnies are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, this table may have been created in 2009, but it is as fresh as springtime. The green pears look so majestic with the blue and white plates. The lacy borders add a delicate touch. Such a pretty set!
ReplyDeleteI just may need to stop by Pier I and let a couple of those bunnies hop into my shopping basket.
Happy Spring! ~ Sarah

I love your tablescape, the tureen is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat shade of blue with that shade of green is just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Debbie! I love the mix of green, blue and white. And you're right - anytime I see the picture of the plate with a pear, I know that it's you! I was surprised to see those little bunnies in Pier I the other day too. I have them marching across my mantle. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI love this beautiful blue and white table, Debbie. I am so glad you re-posted!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE BLUE PLATES!
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I enjoyed your pictures! I can see why you love these dishes! The soup tureen is cute! Love the green stemware mised in...it adds a nice pop of color in a table setting that often get's a matching blue glass! I bought those bunnies too! I evern spray painted one with white to see how it would look. It was okay but I decided the green was the cutest!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I have always loved your tablescapes, and this is one of my favorites. Love the green stick bunny and need to get mine out. Where are they??? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry I haven't been blogging. I've had computer issues and am on Mr. Magpie's work computer tonight. Don't know when I am going to have a chance to get a new one because I am up to my eyeballs in life stuff... Adelaide's husband had a triple bypass (unexpected), and another friend's husband is in the final days of pancreatic cancer. I have had no time to blog which I miss SO much.
I hope to be back by the end of spring. I miss you and all of my blogging buddies.
Take good care...
XO,
Sheila :-)
This is beautiful and I do recognize it from your signature look. I wasn't blogging yet when it was originally posted so the table is new and delightful to me. I love it.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! I, too, love those blue cutwork plates and admit to have the wonderful bunnies on a stick! They still make me happy every time spring rolls around! Jane
ReplyDeleteHi Deb,
ReplyDeleteYour turine (what's the spelling?) is to die for. It's so beautiful. Looks like Miss Universe standing in the middle. GORGEOUSLY...

ReplyDeleteStill so pretty, Debbie. Very fresh and inviting. I had almost forgotten the "bunny on a stick" rage and then the "target birdie" fad. But I still have them and use them, too! Love the lighting. Linda
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
