Easing into Fall

Fall is my favorite season so you know I am chomping at the bit to break out the bins of décor and start decorating my home! But...I am trying to control myself since it's still August and I usually wait until September arrives. So what I have decided to do is just add a few fall touches...enough to make me happy without going full-on pumpkins! :-) Here are the five ways I am easing into fall...

 1. ADDING SUNFLOWERS
Without completely changing my vignettes, I sprinkle in some sunflowers to replace the hydrangeas that have been there all summer. We pass fields of them on the way to my favorite pumpkin patch so sunflowers just say fall to me!

 2. PUTTING OUT ONE OR TWO FALL PILLOWS
This one is my new favorite and it's just neutral enough not to scream pumpkins! In case you are interested, I found it at Kirkland's.

 3. FILLING A FAVORITE BOWL WITH A TOUCH OF FALL
I was wandering through Hobby Lobby yesterday when this fabulous fall filler just jumped into my cart! I love that the pastel colors are not shouting fall but are gentle reminders that the season is just around the corner. It even came with succulents so it's the perfect transition!

 4. BURNING FALL-SCENTED CANDLES
Having grown up in the mountains, I always associate apples with fall. This one combines them with pumpkins and spice for a warm fall scent. I love it! It came from Bath & Body Works in case you'd like to check it out.

5. ADDING A FALL WREATH TO THE DOOR
OK...I admit it. This one may be jumping the gun for some of you but I'm ready to let my guests know that fall is cranking up in my home! This beauty was a thrifting find several years ago and I still love it! I don't think it's over-the-top fall...just suggesting it! :-)

So there you have it! And be warned...the bins are coming out and fall is happening once September arrives! I'm calling September 1st the first day of fall! How about you? Are you starting to think about fall decorations?

Please note...I am not being paid to mention any of the products above. I just like them. :-)
