Terra Cotta and Pumpkins...My Fall Centerpiece

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall CenterpieceToday I am sharing my centerpiece for the breakfast room table…terracotta and pumpkins for fall! It was really simple to put together…I just added a few of my favorite projects to some of my favorite elements!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall CenterpieceAnd the inspiration for it all…my new favorite for fall…terracotta! It adds texture and a rustic look that complements that fall feeling! And it was so easy…I just left the mums in their pots, wrapped them in burlap and popped them into my terracotta container. And if it looks slightly familiar…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Collecting Clay Cookers …it’s because it’s not a planter at all, but one of my clay cookers! See it there…the one with the hen on top? lol They make great planters because they are glazed on the inside so there are no leaks! That one is only decorative for me anyway and not the one I actually cook with. You can see more about my collection of clay cookers here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall Centerpiece Another terracotta element is my super-easy DIY rustic cloche base made from flower pot saucers...another easy and inexpensive way to add texture! I filled the cloche with acorns as a base and topped them off with baby pumpkins.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall CenterpieceI added my no-sew shirt pumpkins for a touch of whimsy…another fun and easy project that even the kids could help you do! I love the way the jute twine tendrils and the burlap leaves add even more texture!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall Centerpiece And speaking of tendrils, here’s a fun pair of baby pumpkins that I found on our recent trip to the pumpkin farm…so intertwined that they are almost impossible to separate! I loved that so much that I decided not to even try. Funny, huh?

OzzieOur CEO Miss Oz says that I have completely lost my mind. It’s not like they have feelings and would miss each other if I cut them apart!  And I’m afraid my next strange pumpkin pair makes her cringe even more…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall Centerpiece …because these guys have even grown together! They were in the very last bag of baby pumpkins at Walmart…rejected by all of the other shoppers. I know…I’m strange! I just love them!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Terracotta and Pumpkins Fall CenterpieceSooo…corral it all in a big woven tray and you have my fall centerpiece! I am really loving all the texture (Are you getting the impression that I love texture?) that it adds to my fall décor!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Terracotta Cloche Base And just in case you would like to find out how I made my rustic terracotta cloche base, you will find the tutorial here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT No-Sew Shirt PumpkinsAnd finally, here’s a closer look at my no-sew shirt pumpkins…super-easy and inexpensive and they never go bad!
Believe it or not, I am still finishing up my fall decorating, trying to keep it all low-cost and not buy anything other than my mums and fresh pumpkins. Plus...I plan to jump into Christmas at the first possible moment! ;-) What about you?
