Six Unique Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Wow! Have you realized that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away? It's time for me to get my mojo on and start planning! Sooo... I decided to take a look at six of my favorite centerpieces for a little Turkey Day inspiration! And I realized that they all have two things in common...a unique container or platform for the centerpiece and a great table runner to tie it all together.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Farmhouse Thanksgiving TablescapeOne of my all-time favorites is my FARMHOUSE THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE. I used grapevine wreaths as chargers to add some texture and chunky pewter flatware and goblets to add a rustic feel.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Thanksgiving Tablescape with White Pumpkins, Bittersweet and Mercury Glass...a collection of fresh and faux pumpkins and gourds twined with bittersweet and topped off with votives and mercury glass candlesticks! The center pumpkin was raised on an overturned cup and saucer to add a little interest.  Hint...I spray-painted $5.00 faux pumpkins from Walmart a natural-looking cream color for an inexpensive but elegant look!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired TablescapeHere's another favorite...my POTTERY BARN INSPIRED TABLESCAPE WITH VINTAGE WOOD AND MERCURY GLASS PUMPKINS.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and PewterI also love this one...my PUMPKINS AND PEWTER RUSTIC THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE. The twiggy placemats and deer sheds add lots of texture and an outdoorsy feel and the pewter flatware and goblets give it a rustic air.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and PewterThe centerpiece is relatively simple...fresh pumpkins, autumn leaves and bittersweet. The central pumpkin is elevated again...this time with an overturned terracotta pot and over-sized saucer painted a creamy white.

I love the simple elegance and the way the candlelight reflects in my mother's vintage flatware! And the INDIAN CORN CANDLES add to the real Thanksgiving feel!

Another favorite is my FARMHOUSE FALL TABLESCAPE IN GREEN AND WHITE, starring lots of galvanized touches. I love that rustic look and the patina that it adds!

A fabulous rectangular farmhouse-style basket serves as the centerpiece, holding an assortment of pumpkins, pears and pine cones for lots of added texture.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT DIY Ruffled Burlap Table RunnerAnd did you notice? My burlap table runner is at the heart of every one of these tablescapes, adding texture and helping to pull everything together. If you would like to make one of your own, you will find a detailed tutorial HERE. I leave mine out all through fall and winter and have discovered that it really adds to my Christmas tablescapes as well!

There you have it...six unique Tahnksgiving centerpieces! This year we will be at my sister's house so there will not be a big family dinner in the dining room. It will be replaced instead by a smaller tablescape in the breakfast room for Thanksgiving morning...so stay tuned to see what I have planned!

Remember to  pin it!
