I used three basic layers to create this year's look.
- Start with a bed of greens such as kale. Yep...kale straight from the grocery store! I love the darker shade of green and all the ruffly texture that it adds!
- Layer in white pumpkins and gourds in several shades of green. I am loving all the lumps and bumps on this pale green gourd!
- Top it all off by sprinkling in a handful of pretty acorns. It sounds like a recipe for a salad, doesn't it? ;-)
And how about this one in shades of pale green! Its unusual shape was new to me...unique and very different!
Miss Kitty couldn't resist a little photo bombing with her tail!
And here's another look at the final result! I am loving the serenity of this one! And with a house full of three busy grandsons and my crazy new life, I'll take all the serenity I can get! ;-)
Here's last year's fall dough bowl, created using a little different twist on my three-step process. You can get all the details HERE. And stay tuned because I have more ideas for your Thanksgiving table!

The pumpkins are so cute ♥
ReplyDeleteI'm loving my gourds this year, also! Mine have yellow, orange, green & white with long curly stems. Love your breadbowl!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your title made me laugh. Several years ago I filled a dough bowl with fall elements similar to yours, heavy with pine cones also. The difference is I used mine as a centerpiece on an "outside" table. Can you guess what happened? The next morning my bowl was almost empty. Some creatures had a smorgasbord!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your dough bowl tutorial. But I did get a laugh to see Miss Kitty's tail as part of a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI love your simple and elegant presentation. Now, I just need a dough bowl! My heart still pines for my grandmother's.
ReplyDeleteLove your simple beautiful dough bowl and the information and tips God bless
