This is my favorite little corner…my little spot for morning coffee when the air is a little cooler. I’ve added a few farmhouse touches this year to make it cozier than ever! If you know me, you know I love anything galvanized so my barnstable lantern has made its way to the patio along with my olive bucket that now contains one of my go-to summer plants…portulaca. And it’s just not summer to me without my sweet potato vine. It’s taking over the world! Feed me, Seymour! But I have to say that the pillows from Heritage Lace are my favorites!
I love the vintage farmhouse look and the ticking stripe of the BUTTERFIELD FARMS PILLOW! It adds an element of rustic charm to my patio.
Here’s a closer look. The cow design just speaks to me! It’s so comfy and adds just the right cozy touch to my favorite spot!
In the other chair is another pillow from Heritage Lace…the FARMHOUSE LOVE FAMILY PILLOW. The fabric has a faux bois wood grain look that I love and expresses a sentiment that is dear to me…especially since my daughter and the little grands have come to live with me! The pillows are not weather proof so they come in with me. And see the pot of portulaca?
Take a closer look at the bee I spied…all covered with pollen from his morning collecting! Cool, huh?
On the other side of the patio you will find a little spot for outdoor dining…
…and the vintage plant stand that I added this year. Can you tell I love geraniums? Take a closer look at the ones in the stand.
They were hosts to a family of wrens in early summer. I left the nest undisturbed in case they came back for a second brood. It was so much fun for the little grands to watch them come and go through the window! We were lucky enough to witness the babies leave the nest and fly for the first time!
And here’s more galvanized goodness…remember my MINI HERB GARDEN WITH CHALKBOARD PLANT MARKERS?
Here’s how it looks now! I am just about to harvest some of the oregano and basil and I have been adding the mint to my tea all summer…wonderful!
A summer favorite has returned as always…my RUSTIC FLOWER POT MAN! This year his hair is Creeping Jenny.
And I couldn’t have a farmhouse porch without a Mason jar! This one is actually a mercury glass solar lantern. It casts a pretty glow at night!
And finally, every farmhouse needs a handsome gentleman farmer to keep the livestock…er…lizards corralled! Baby Kitty is very happy to take care of that job! He really loves a morning romp...always supervised, of course! How about you? Is summer still in full swing? I hope it has been wonderful!

Debbie, I don't know where to start! Those pillows, those plants, the geraniums! I try to grow them but can't get any flowers. I have 5 or 6 faux plants inside to get my geranium fix. Please tell us how you get them to flower?
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Your patio looks beautiful, I love all the farmhouse touches! That is so nice that your grands are there with you! I bet they loved seeing the baby birds!!! How old are they? I love that plant stand, so pretty. I had never heard of moss rose, is there another name for it? Have a fun weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you like it, Pinky! My little grands are 5 and 6...perfect age for spying on baby birds! :-) Moss rose is actually portulaca. It was introduced to me as moss rose so I always forget its official name.
DeleteBeautiful. I especially like the splash of color the sweet potato vine makes. Thank you for sharing your picturesque patio.

Your farm house patio looks wonderful and so inviting. How great to sit there in the morning and have a cup or two of coffee and watch the world wake up.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been so HOT and so many fires all around us that the air quality is not good for me with COPD. But, I do try and go out early in the morning before it gets to hot.
Enjoy your weekend and kitty is so pretty.

Great patio! Everything looks welcoming and comfortable. I love geraniums - they remind me of all of the pretty window boxes throughout Paris and they are one of my "go to" flowers for outdoors. Red is the best. One of my besties just returned from a tour through Germany, and geraniums are, apparently, very popular there, too. Thanks for sharing.

Your patio is so pretty! I'd love to sit out there also. All your plants look wonderful. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and peaceful! I love it! I have a question about planting outdoor flowers/plants in galvanized containers. I love the look but have always wondered if the sun would cause the metal to heat up too much for the flowers to survive. You obviously are having luck with it. Do you only plant certain flowers in them? Thanks! Kate
ReplyDeleteDeb you have created an outdoor oasis, I love all of your plantings and special touches. Baby Kitty is so handsome and looks beautiful next to your healthy plants. I can see you having coffee there in the mornings, Just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty!!! I love the color of your chairs with your grain pillows. Plus your geraniums bloom great. Mine only bloom in spring. What a happy place!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Love the bucket herb garden! Great job !!
ReplyDeleteI have the original patio set you have; by that I mean mine rock and are so heavy and they original had a green patina with the black. Because mine goes back to 1978 the co recommended using a high quality flat black to keep it nice. Through yrs. it has needed to be painted. Thank you for the pictures, lovely patio and I like the pillows !
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI just took your farmhouse patio tour and everything is so beautiful. My flowers have just about seen better days with the NC heat. Did you find your olive bucket on-line or a local shop? I have searched for one but so far no luck finding one. Thanks again for your post.
Very pretty. We have the same taste. Love it all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yard. It looks amazing!
