The starting point was the wreath and that one was not as easy as I had imagined. I had planned all along to rework my transitional APPLES AND BITTERSWEET FALL WREATH, but finding the perfect replacement for the apples took some searching.
And then I finally found these faux pumpkins with just the right shade of green and little touches of white!
So I pulled out the apples and some of the faux bittersweet and added the pumpkins…just the look I wanted!
I also wanted a natural feel with lots of green touches, so I stacked these wonderful green pumpkins topiary-style on my lion's head urn to give them presence.
I topped the mantel with a fall garland that I had in my stash and added a few more faux gourds and pumpkins to bring out the green. But something was still missing…then I spied this burlap banner at Target for only $3.00…winner! I could hardly make it that inexpensively!
It adds just the right touch of texture and lets everyone know that this mantel is all about Thanksgiving!
Here’s a peek at the whole mantel. It’s simple, really…just a garland, a banner and some pumpkins…but with lots of natural elements and the texture! I love the subtle colors, too…perfect for my Thanksgiving theme!
And just in case you are looking for more inspiration, here’s my FARMHOUSE FALL MANTEL from last year with lots of traditional orange pumpkins and galvanized touches.
However, Miss Isabella says she doesn’t see what the big deal is about the mantel. After all, Thanksgiving is about the dinner…right? And I have to admit that’s my second favorite thing! ;-)

It's perfect Deb. I can't believe you found that banner for only $3!!! :-O That's a bargain. The only thing I think is missing are some legos and dinosaurs. Well, that's tucked into my Fall centerpiece right now. :-D xxoo, Barb
ReplyDeleteDeb it looks wonderful, I especially love the urns with the stack of pumpkins, so pretty and organic looking. Happy Fall!!
ReplyDeleteDeb, it is gorgeous! When you decorate you mantel I always wish I had one to decorate myself. It's just stunning, but I must admit the food is my favorite part also!
