Need Inspiration? It's Christmas Open House!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open HouseWoo hoo! It’s time for my favorite event at my favorite place…Christmas Open House at the Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors in Alpharetta, Georgia! I can always count on having lots of fun and finding some wonderful holiday inspiration…and this year was no exception! Add some Christmas music in the background…the first I had heard this year…and it was perfect!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-002 It always surprises me when I look at the photos that I took because I see that I had several themes running through my brain without even realizing it. And this time, one of them was fabric Christmas trees! I loved these with the red print…so festive…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-006 …and these with the same fabric in natural. And…I love those burlap trees with the script garland and the measuring tape/spool stand…unusual!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-004I have been eyeing a tree something like this grain sack version in the Pottery Barn catalog this year. But…$$$$ Yikes!  Gotta love that patch!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-003 If you know me, you know I’ve got to check out the Christmas pillows! I love this one…Merry Christmoose!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-011 And I love the touch of ticking on these vintage-look deer pillows!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-007 These colorful chicken pillows are not necessarily Christmas-y, but they are red and green! Works for me!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-001 I love me some sheep but my HOA would frown on my having a flock…but no one could object to these little guys…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-024 ...or these pretty sheep napkins! Love them!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-009Hmmm…it seems that I am continuing my crush on vintage chick feeders…on my radar for a couple of years now.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-027 Here’s one all decorated for Christmas…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-005 …and another one that already has touches of red built right in!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-010 These are a nice size…not too long…and a great price! They are just saying “Decorate us for Christmas!”

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-021 And then a few things just caught my eye…not along a theme, but just Christmas-y and cute…like this garland of little lettered burlap sacks…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-026 …and this jar full of colorful vintage Christmas bulbs! Just looking at them filled me with memories from my childhood!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-023 I love this little painted snowman ornament with his scarf and funny nose! Is it painted cheesecloth?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-008 And you know I love this tower of blue and white dinnerware turned petit four server!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-013 There’s something wonderfully charming about this rustic and rusted Nativity!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-019 What is it about little animals…especially mice…wearing clothes that gets me every time? lol

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-018 I spied a copy of a favorite book…The Cajun Night Before Christmas! I especially love the names of the gators pulling the skiff! You can hear it read with a Cajun accent HERE.

And although not at all Christmas-y, vintage Quimper always stops me in my tracks and makes me smile…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-025 …as does beautiful toile...especially in blue and white!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-020I was surprised to see another quadruple silverplate master sugar spooner since they are hard to find. This one has a few parts missing, though. You may remember that I just brought one home a few weeks ago. You can see mine HERE.
And now…can you guess what came home with me?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Open House 2015-016Yep…at long last I found the perfect vintage chick feeder…not too long and not too expensive…just right!  And stay tuned because I will be showing you how I decorated it for Christmas very soon!

  2. Oh, how I wish Queen of Hearts or a shop like it was here in Austin. I'd be stopping in weekly. Thanks for taking us along and sharing the highlights. I'm crushing over the toile pillows. They would be so perfect in our home.
Eager to see you latest creative take on the chicken feeder. I know it will be clever and adorable.

  5. Debbie....as always, you show us some wonderful ideas! I am wondering if one could possibly order anything over the phone with the store? Seeing as how I live in Wisconsin, it is a far far drive to get to that store!! I would love one of the sheep and the sheep napkin...oh, to live closer! Diane

    1. I am sure that you can have them shipped, Diane. I know they have done that before on items that I have shown. Just refer them to my blog post. The dealer for the sheep is WHIP and I am not sure of the name that he goes by but I believe that the sheep napkins were in David's booth. He has mostly French imports. They will know. Their number is 678-297-7571. So glad that you liked them as much as I did! hugs...Debbie
