A Little Patio Fluffing

I've been doing a little fluffing on my patio and I would love to show you! I always enjoy sharing my favorite spot in the yard when it’s at its peak…at the end of June. It’s so very green and lush and all the plants are happy campers right now...before the July and August heat have kicked in. And I have a few new additions I would love for you to see, too.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing This is the spot where I have my coffee and let the staff head out for a supervised romp. It’s so pleasant in the morning! And yes…that’s a fan. Here in Georgia, it’s a necessity once the heat kicks in.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing I didn’t show you my patio last year. My poor Indian Hawthornes were so very sad from the single digit temps the previous winter that they finally had to go mid-summer. They were replaced by these lovelies…my August Beauty gardenias. They have even had a bit of a struggle from this winter’s single digits, but have come back beautifully! I am hoping that, true to their name, they will have an abundance of blooms by August! That’s my solar mercury glass Mason jar on the shepherd’s hook. It has a wonderful glow at night!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio FluffingThis spring’s heavy rains left the grass at the gate looking a little bedraggled so I added this little stone and paver entry. I only spent about $10 and it took just minutes to create! I think it’s a nice surprise to greet my back gate guests!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing You might remember that I showed you how my Christmas poinsettia was still perfect this spring. I finally put it out on the patio to see what it would do and just look at it!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing My little flower pot man is back as always, sporting a new 'do…peppermint! I think this is my favorite “hair” so far since it has proven to be very hardy. You can find out how to make one of your own here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing The garden snail has moved to a new spot among the greenery. I love having this overgrown escargot hanging around...and the missing antenna just makes him more special!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing My sweet potato vine certainly is happy this year! Believe it or not, there is a wire rooster planter under there! Feed me, Seymour! lol

My shabby picninc basket planter got a late start this year and is not quite at its peak, so I am sharing a photo from a previous year. It should be in full form in a couple of weeks. You can see how to make your own here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing Miss Kitty says that her favorite spot is still the little water feature…although she thinks it is her personal drinking fountain!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing But my favorite spot is this one…my little seating area where I can share a glass of iced tea and chat with a friend! And I am in love with my new pillows! The folks at Heritage Lace were kind enough to send them to me. I am enjoying the comfy touch that they add!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing I love the Welcome pillow! The colors of the original art work fit right in with my patio furniture and it adds wonderful homespun texture, too.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing And the Welcome Live Simply pillow also adds a nice homey touch. I love the picket fence motif! They are not outdoor pillows, so they go in with me.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Little Patio Fluffing Now I am enjoying my little seating area even more! Would you join me for a glass of iced tea? I’d love it if you’d stay for a little visit!

Remember to pin it!

  5. You certainly have a green thumb! Very pretty. I am curious about your fan -- I have never seen one like that. Do you have to bring it inside if there is rain?

    1. So glad that you like it, Ellen! No, the fan is an outdoor fan and stays outside even when it rains. I found it several years ago at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
