Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel

I am finally ready to share this year’s Christmas mantel! I’ve gone very traditional and Southern this year with my tartan and magnolias....both of them just say Christmas to me!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel It started with my Pottery Barn inspired faux magnolia wreath. It adds a classic and timeless touch, I think, and I will be able to use it year after year! And…since I was determined to spend as little as possible on Christmas decorations this year, I was excited that all I had to spend was $4.00 for the grapevine wreath since I already had everything else that I needed!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel I also added a few magnolia leaves and red ornaments to each of the corners of my garland to continue the theme. I would love a whole garland of magnolias one of these days!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel I was really excited to finally be able to use the gorgeous stag candle holders that I had found for $35 for the pair in an after-Christmas sale at Bombay Company several years ago! They never quite fit in with any of my other mantels and I was determined to show them off this year.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel I even made them little fresh cyprus wreaths to wear around their necks!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Burlap and Plaid Christmas Stockings I was happy that I could reuse the burlap and plaid stockings that I had made several years ago, too. You can get a closer look at them here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel And here it is! I am really loving the cozy touch that it is adding to my home during the holidays!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT My Farmhouse Christmas MantelAnd just in case you would like to see some of my mantels from past Christmases, here is my farmhouse Christmas mantel…perhaps my favorite! I love those over-sized galvanized lanterns!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Burlap and Plaid Mantel5My burlap and plaid Christmas mantel made it to the pages of Country Sampler magazine in my Christmas home tour.

020And here’s another favorite…my French ticking, burlap and mercury glass Christmas mantel. I saved oodles of money by cutting up some old French ticking drapery panels to create most of my decor that year!

BK And Baby Kitty says to stay tuned because I finally have the rest of the house decorated, too, and I’ll be sharing it in the next few days!

  1. This is STUNNING, my all time favorite. Simple, understated and yet elegant. The stags look Grande in their stature and the magnolia's, tartan and red additions look cozy and homey. With that being said, you have created the perfect Christmas mantel.
    Merry Christmas Deb
ps I pinned away, people need to see this!!!

  2. How pretty and festive, Debbie! After years of doing "decorator" trees, I went back to traditional red, green, and plaid this year. My college kids came home and loved it! There is just something so classic and festive about that combo. You did a beautiful job!
