My Christmas Hot Cocoa Station...That Doubles as a Centerpiece!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Christmas Hot Cocoa StationI have to admit that I have been admiring the hot cocoa stations that I have seen on other blogs…a special spot to keep all that you need to create a wonderful cup of hot cocoa…but I have such a small home that I couldn’t find a way to fit it into my kitchen. And then it dawned on me…why not use it as a Christmas centerpiece in the breakfast room? And my little idea began to take shape!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece So I started pulling out a few of my favorites…both old and new…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece …such as my vintage Red Cliff ironstone teapot (note that it sports my favorite grapey motif)…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece …and some wonderful frenchy Joyeux Noël mugs that were calling my name at Home Goods this year. I gave each mug a candy cane and a chocolate spoon (from World Market) to add some extra spice to the hot cocoa.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece Then I filled my little lead crystal urn with extras in case more guests arrive…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece …and my little cut glass dessert compote with even more marshmallows…because you know you can never have too many!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece Then just to add a little more frenchiness, I put some festive red and green ornaments in my French wire egg stand, making sure to top it off with a shiny star!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece And there you have it! I love that it has everything that I need to serve my guests and it doesn’t take up any extra space in my kitchen since I always have a Christmas-y centerpiece anyway...perfect! And…did you notice that I also managed to continue the Christmas tartan theme that has been echoing throughout my décor this year?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tartan and Magnolia Christmas Mantel Just in case you missed it, here’s a peek at my tartan and magnolia Christmas mantel…starring my Pottery Barn inspired faux magnolia wreath!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pewter and Plaid Christmas Tablescape And here’s my pewter and plaid Christmas tablescape…with a fun Christmas tree napkin fold! I can’t wait for my special guests to see those napkins! :-)

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Hot Cocoa Station Christmas Centerpiece And speaking of special guests, I hope you’ll stay for a cup of hot cocoa…

Isabella …and Miss Isabella says to be sure to come back because we will be sharing some super-easy and inexpensive last-minute ways to decorate for Christmas…so stay tuned!
