Valentine Vignettes and a Vintage French Valentine

Now that February is here and Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away, I thought I would share a few of the Valentine vignettes around my house! I think this one may be my favorite…a vintage book bundle topped by a vintage Valentine card with one of my heart-shaped bargain Christmas ornaments from the after-Christmas sale at Hancock Fabrics!

Vintage French Valentine Postcard Here’s the card…a vintage French Valentine…just in case you would like to print one of your own! I mounted it on card stock with rubber cement to give it a little more of a real Valentine feel.

KittyMiss Kitty would like to show you around and share the little touches of Valentine’s Day décor that we have around the house!

Here’s another of those heart-shaped Christmas ornaments…filling my little rustic urn. And if it looks familiar…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Valentine Wreath with Sweater Hearts…it’s because I used the same sweater hearts on my rustic Valentine wreath! Are you beginning to see that I bought all that they had at the after-Christmas sale? Oooh…just wait!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Valentine VignettesHere’s another little vignette…starring my DIY vintage yardstick framed chalkboard  and a little thrift store silver tray filled with even more bargain heart-shaped Christmas ornaments from Hancock’s! These have a German look that I love!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Valentine VignettesOn the table by the front door is another little silver tray filled with wooden hearts…a door hanger that I found on sale after Valentine's Day last year at Michael's and dismantled.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Valentine Vignettes On the drop leaf table behind the love seat in the living room is even more Valentine décor…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Valentine Vignettes …with yet again more of those ornaments filling my favorite blue and white bowl in addition to the handmade ticking and toile hearts…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Valentine Centerpiece…that I made for my rustic Valentine centerpiece a couple of years ago!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Valentine VignettesAnd I added my favorite vintage spindles to a blue and white pitcher with a special pop of color from the red thread! I have decorated a little more than I normally do an I am really enjoying all the Valentine touches this year!

And just in case you would like even more Valentine inspiration, I am sharing my Valentine projects page! Just click on the photos to be taken to the full posts.

  5. Such pretty decorations for valentines day. I saw those same hearts at Hancocks on sale after Christmas but decided not to get them. I wish I had now! Red and white with blue and white is such a great combination. I have the same rooster as in your photos!

  8. Ms. Kitty is gorgeous. I love seeing your cats in your pictures. I am printing the vintage card and will use it in a vignette on my entertainment center (no mantel here.) Love your ideas and you put colors together so well.
