A Touch of Spring...and a Bargain

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Touch of Spring It has been a crazy week in Atlanta…iced in for several days, an earthquake and now temperatures in the 70s! Yes…you read that right…the 70s! :-) Gotta love winter in Georgia! And with the first sign of spring, my urge to decorate with even more blue and yellow comes out…such happy colors to me!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Spring CenterpieceSooo…I have created a new centerpiece for the breakfast room starring a two-tiered basket that I can’t wait to share! My friend Linda at Nina’s Nest and I had headed north to hit the outlet mall…Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma in particular, but…horrors!…both stores were closed to take inventory! We stared through the window likes kids in a candy shop to no avail.

Bargain But fortunately, Linda went back the next day and got that basket for me from Williams-Sonoma…at a fabulous bargain price! Gotta love good friends!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT A Touch of SpringSo I loaded it up with some of my favorite blue and white pieces…like this pitcher filled with faux daffodils…too early yet for the real ones.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Spring Centerpiece And I added my Wedgwood Queen’s Shape sugar and creamer filled with some vintage silverplate in my favorite grapey patterns.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Spring Centerpiece I stacked up a few of the matching cups on some blue and white Spode and vintage Wedgwood dessert plates…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Confiture Jar …and finished it off with my little French jam jar…also a bargain find at Williams-Sonoma from last year.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Spring Centerpiece Add in a few toile napkins, more vintage flatware and Spode salt and pepper shaker and…taaa daaa!…a little bit of spring has come to rest on my table! It makes me smile!

And speaking of resting…our Miss Isabella is stretched out as far as her little portly self can stretch to take advantage of every inch of sunshine that is streaming in! Now that is a very hopeful sign of spring!

  1. What a steal! Can't believe they were closed when you traveled all that way. So nice of Linda to go back and bring that home for you. Crazy weather for sure!

  2. You scored on that basket. * feeling a wee bit of basket envy just now*. Beautiful arrangement.
I must say, I am enjoying this little break in winter for us to enjoy some warmth!. Here in North Central Florida we went from lows in the low 30's , last week to today's high at a promised 83. Yeah!!
    happy today..

  3. Debbie, love the basket and how you have used it to create another fantastic centerpiece! I am so ready for Spring!

  4. Love the basket, the display, and Isabelle! Portly? Shhhhhhh.... Don't let her hear that! She's still a wee whiff of a kitten in her mind!

    Miss Isabella is beautiful!

  6. I adore blue and White and this was a super deal! Beautiful vignette!

  7. So pretty! I like the whole thing a lot. I need to find those outlet malls because we are planning a trip soon. Are these stores together in the same mall?

  8. I see you have a Rogers Lavigne piece in your creamer. I'm also addicted to flatware.

  9. Deb I love that tiered basket. I find baskets so versatile for entertaining and I am sure you will get a lot of use out of this beauty. Loving all the blue and white!
    Happy Thursday,

  10. So pretty Debbie. Your faux dafodills look very real. I prefer faux myself but will occassionally have some beautiful real blooms about the house.

  11. Debbie, loving that basket. I need to make a trip to our outlet and see what they have. I used to stop in frequently when I was traveling to see my mom. Your blue pitcher filled with yellow daffodils makes me long for spring. It's warm here too, so guess it won't be long.

  12. I would have fallen out in a good old-fashioned Southern "hissy fit" had I gotten there to find those stores closed!!! What a GREAT friend for going back and getting that fabulous bargain for you!!! You've decorated it beautifully!

  13. Love the basket, and what a deal you got! Blue, white, and yellow a classy look for Spring!
