Something special is in the works at my daughter and son-in-law’s house…in more ways than one! The finishing touches are being put on the nursery for my new little grandson who is due very soon! She is working hard to get it ready before he decides it’s time to arrive!
Don’t you love the treatment she did on the main wall? She designed and painted the grid herself. The blue on the other three walls provides the perfect contrast! The drapes are still to come.
There are some cute modern touches, such as this unusual lamp from IKEA...only $19.99! But...you have to assemble it! Yikes!
And...there are some bright colors…
…some fun fabrics…
…that I used to make a matching pillow for my little guy…
…and a pretty dresser with an unusual finish...also from IKEA. His big brother is happy to demonstrate how easily the drawers open and close! Yes, they will be only 14 months apart! My ten year old grandson is beside himself with happiness to have two baby brothers!
So if I disappear from Blogland for a little while, I hope you will understand! I will be right here in this comfy chair spending some special time with my little grandson. The big day is fast approaching, so I will keep you posted!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my grandson’s nursery! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

ReplyDeleteThe nursery is absolutely wonderful. I love the colors and style. Just simply fabulous.
Gabi and Drew are 15 months apart and so much fun. And then there are Xanti and Noah...17 years apart!!! Talk about contrasts, but the sibling love is all the same and the fun.
Enjoy!:-) I know you will!
Debbie, how exciting. Love the nursery. That grid is fantastic. Wow, three boys. My son's daughters are 17 months apart. She was still breastfeeding the first one and then found out she was pregnant again. It can happen!
ReplyDeleteCan we say sleep? Someone is not going to get much of it for a while. Have fun with the little ones.
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet nursery...I know you can't wait for the little bundle of joy to get here....
ReplyDeleteMy two oldest are 19 months apart. They grew up very close and remained that way. Beautiful nursery!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Debbie! Congrats! Well, we clearly see where your daughter gets her decorating talent ... the nursery is precious. LOVE the vibrant, mod colors, too. Lucky little fella. *Becca* (BTW ... My two older sisters are 12 months apart!)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about the nursery! The colors are so fresh & relaxing. Enjoy welcoming your new grandson.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThank heaven for little boys! Take all the time you need to bond with your new grandson. You'll be missed, but this is the most important time in his little life. Those other two grandsons will need your love, hugs and kisses, as well! Enjoy!
Fondly,
Pat
How exciting! The nursery is adorable. Your daughter did a fine job.
ReplyDeleteoh Debbie, this nursery is GORGEOUS in such a little masculine way too. Your daughter did great! And so did you on that matching pillow. Great seamstress work! Hey ~ I got a chuckle and a BIG surprise when I seen Claudie's tribute to my birthday and the pics from our get together last March. Wasn't that a hoot to get that surprise? She is a riot and I just love her to pieces. Soooo, Congrats on this new grandie, now you are up to my number, 3! :) Give me a shout when you're baby sitting at your daughters, I'd love to come meet these little guys. YOU ARE BLESSED my friend! ;) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, it is wonderful! Love the colors, the design, the fabrics, the accessories... all. And I particularly love that little guy on the floor... what a cutie!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the news that the new baby is here. What fun to have THREE grandsons! :-)
XO,
Sheila
Congratulations on another grandson, Debbie! The room is adorable...I love the non-traditional color combination for a baby's room. That lamp is adorable, but someone with a little more patience than me would have to put it together. Looking forward to hearing all about the new little bundle of joy when he arrives!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, Great color scheme for the baby's room and the accent wall is so neat. I really like the fabric choice. Love the pops of orange, green and a little bit of black in the room...so contemporary.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again and have fun babysitting all those boys. :)
Hugs,
Babs
How exciting! I know that you can't wait to meet the little guy.
ReplyDeleteAnd what an adorable room! I love the trend in nurseries. By not making them so babyish it makes it so much easier to transition the room as the child grows up.
Can't wait to hear the big news. Let us know when he is safely here!
Debbie, the nursery is so cute. I love her grid wall and all of her colors and fabrics. I can't wait to hear all about the new little one. Hugs, Marty

Lovely pics... Loved them all...
ReplyDeleteI found you from Laurie's Favorite Things, and I just love this nursery.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful how creative young moms are these days. That grid wall is terrific.
And though she will be tired at first, fourteen months will make for the best of friends for the long haul. I know... I'm almost that close in age to my sister (AND her twin brother)
Congrats to the whole family.
Congratulations Debbie, wonderful news. Your DIL made a fabulous nursery.
