I have to admit it. Yes, it’s true! I am a big fat copy cat! And Miss Mustard Seed is one of my favorites to copy! So I decided I might as well join Marian at her Copy Me Challenge!
Under the influence of Miss Mustard Seed (aka MMS), I actually painted some furniture! And, of course, I discovered the many uses of drop cloths! I used them to recover my frenchy chair…
…and to make a faux French grain sack pillow!
And thanks to her, I also attempted…and successfully, I might add!…to make piping…something I had been wanting to try for a long time! I added it to the toile throw pillows in my master bedroom re-do…
…and to the recovered frenchy chair. What a difference that makes…a much more finished look!
And, of course, you cannot be a fan of MMS without trying a drop cloth slipcover! I love the way this one turned out! Notice it also has piping...my new favorite thing! If you stand still long enough, I'll put piping on you! lol
I think her influence made big difference in the appearance of my Parisian bedroom makeover!
And you cannot get your fan club membership without trying your hand at creating things with sheet music…such as this wreath…
…which was the star of my glittery burlap and sheet music Christmas mantel!
I even have a drop cloth as my current table cloth…with a burlap table runner! So I have to say…thanks, Miss Mustard Seed! You have put drop cloths and sheet music in a whole new light!
Be sure to head on over to Miss Mustard’s Seed’s to see what everyone else has cooked up and then to Donna’s at Funky Junk Interiors to check out the bloggers who have copied her unique style!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my creations! See you next time! A la prochaine!
Love everything!! Of course that wreath is still my favorite! You were my inspiration to make mine!

Debbie, I ALWAYS enjoy seeing glimpses of your home. You are indeed talented...copycat or not! I love your pillows and so much more.
ReplyDeleteQuestion~~ did you make your burlap table runner?
Love seeing EVERYTHING, Dahling. :)
Donna
Debbie, you are so creative...everything is beautiful. Even the burlap, which I am still stumped why it is so popular...to me it is smelly, coarse and itchy...I have a piece I am trying to decide if I will use it or not!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so pretty, your work is outstanding. But I love everything that's on your blog. have a happy weekend
ReplyDeletePattie
All you creative and talented ladies inspire me.
ReplyDeleteYou "copy cats" are certainly a group of talented individuals. I only stand on the sidelines and dream of doing such projects. I truly admire you!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing this beautiful room full of French style. ~ Sarah
Debbie, this is just wonderful! I love what you did. Your bedroom looks great. Now, if you can do it, you have given me the impetus to try. See? But I guess I need a machine, no? LOL! I'm so proud of you. Really darling makeover, and I love that wreath, too.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
It's all so beautiful! What a fantastic copycatter :)
ReplyDeleteEverything is fab! Debbie... love the changes. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteLooks like she must have been a good teacher. I am gona drop by her blog as soon as I leave this. Thanks, Richard at www.myoldhistorichouse.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou have done a wonderful job with all of your projects. You make me wish I could sew...but, some things just aren't meant to be:)
ReplyDeleteI ran out and grabbed a drop cloth at Lowe's Home Improvement with the intention to create my own version of the "faux feedsack" pillows. I have been soooo busy with other projects they may be out of style by the time I get to it. I did make a paper wreath at Christmas. I used pages from a book, not music sheets. I LOVE how it turned out and bought some music sheet books wo make more wreaths. Another thing on my VERY LONG To do list! So many ideas, so little time!
ReplyDeleteI love you pillows and your bedroom is just gorgeous!
Copycat or not, it all looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteawesome job! this could BE MMS's house!

ReplyDeleteOMGosh...what a fantastic job you've done here. AWESOME...you should win this contest, hands down.
ReplyDeleteI don't sew but if I did, I would have a drop cloth something or other. I love your frenchy pillow..and the wreath...
to. die. for.
Your Christmas mantel was one of my favorites this year. :)
GOOD JOB....
I love it all! The piping looks so good- is there a cure for laziness so I can do this, too?! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you took the inspiration and ran with it! I really love the different ways you've used the drop cloths, but my favorite things are the sheet music wreath and candles. I'm with BJ, your mantle was one of my very favorites this year. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Kat
ReplyDeleteLove it! It looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't know Miss Mustard Seed. I will have to go visit her!
Hi Debbie..thanks for stopping by..it's always a pleasure to see you.
ReplyDeleteIs there a tutorial for making piping. I have a sewing project coming up..and I would love to know how to do it...
Yours looks fantastic! I've never done it before...but always wanted to. I finally end up having someone make it for me...but I need to learn.. I am making two covers for pillows on the chairs on my front porch...and I think they would look great with piping.
wow I love it...
ReplyDeleteI just love everything but my favorite would be those pillows with the piping! They are lovely!

OMG, have you "Inspired me BIG TIME"!!! What a talented lady you are. I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE your bedroom! and the dishes on the wall are stunning. I must say though, that although I LOVE the sheet music wreath, etc. I would never use REAL antique sheet music. I am a musician(Piano), and I treasure my collection. I WILL THOUGH photocopy and use those to create your goodies. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE them too!
