Hurrah! We had our first fire of the season today and the house feels so cozy! The temperature dropped to 39 degrees, so I decided that it was time.
Baby Kitty was especially happy and stretched right out. Nothing says cozy like a fire in the fireplace and a cat! Add that to the fall decor, and I finally feel like fall has arrived in Georgia! ( To see my living room before fall decor was added, just scroll down my sidebar!)
If I may, I’d like to show you around a little bit! Let’s start in the entry. I always have a wreath on the inside of the front door as well as the outside.
I found this one on the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby several years ago and added the burnt orange bow. I still love those moss balls! They add so much texture!
On the chest in the entry, you will find my Pottery Barn knock-off candle holder at the center of this vignette, along with my grandson’s favorite…candy corn! (If you would like to see a tutorial for making the hurricane, click here.)
Some fall potpourri fills the big bowl near the door and faux mums have taken the place of the red geraniums. Sorry, faux haters, but my staff tends to eat the real thing! lol
In the living room, I have added a throw to the slip-covered chair to warm it up a little. You might recognize the frenchy print pillow and stool from a previous post. You can see my dining room behind it…also ready for fall.
I have already shown it to you, but I am still so excited about the deal I got on all of that Wedgwood china that I had to show it to you again! (Click here to see that post.)
My friend Linda at Nina’s Nest and I found these wonderful old books while Goodwill hunting…$2.50 each. I added them to the painted chest, topped with a simple cloche tied with jute twine and a baby pumpkin for a pop of color. Do you see my little frenchy boy looking on in the background? He was another GW find…$3.73!
I used my favorite silver grape tray to hold some more pumpkins on the coffee table. The vine pumpkin came from Target…$2.50…and I added some fall berries…half price at Hobby Lobby. They are displayed on an assortment of candle holders and urns that I collected from Goodwill over several months.
Here is my new love…my santos cage doll! I gave her to myself for my birthday. lol I have been eyeing them for some time, but the ones I have found have been a little too primitive for my decor and way too large for my small house. She is only 16 inches tall…perfect!…and has a sort of frenchy look, I think. I love her sweet face and that little cherub on the base adds a little touch of whimsy! (You can find her online here.)
I also added this architectural piece to the coffee table…a Goodwill find for under $2.00…and stacked it on top of this wonderful book that Linda found for me at GW…Monet’s Table: The Cooking Journals of Claude Monet by Claire Joyes. I had been thinking about buying it for a while but didn’t want to pay full price. It is full of beautiful photos of Monet’s home in Giverny and lots of his own recipes taken from his handwritten journal.
And of course, the real inspiration for my fall decor is the mantel using a mirror above the fireplace…a real change for me that I think I will keep for a while!
Now you have had the tour of my fall living room! I hope you will join Isabella and me by the fire for a cappuccino!
I know this wonderful cool snap won’t last. It will warm up again as it always does, but I am going to enjoy this cozy feeling while I can!

Wow, Debbie, I am first! What an absolutely gorgeous post. I love all the fall touches. And the chair with the throw and the beautiful pillow and ottoman are just beautiful. The mantel is fabulous. Oh, and I love the white filled hutch with the orange pumpkins and the blue on top - love that combo of blue and orange....so does my "War Eagle" son! You get an A+ today, prof! Linda
ReplyDeleteOh, everything is just so inviting. I love it. I was wondering what color the wall color paint is called? Love the white dishes--I will have to click on your link. I live in SC and we had our fire going on Saturday when all the Haloween kids were coming to our door and cooling our room!
ReplyDeletehttp://spindlecottage.blogspot.com
Debbie, I am so glad you gave a link for your Santo- U looked at furniture market for some, but didn't find a source. I hate paying retail- I am so spoiled. But I want one!! Your room certainly looks cozy. Love the little foot stool and pillow.
ReplyDeleteI haven't lit a fire for the longest time here. The fireplace is in a room with 18 foot ceilings, and it just sucks out all the warm air from the house, since it is open to the second floor. :-(
You have a wonderful, cosy and welcoming home Debbie.
ReplyDeleteBaby Kitty and Isabella are two sensible cats!
Absolutely wonderful Debbie! Your home is gorgeous. I love it all dressed for Fall.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, everything is so cozy for fall. I know your staff loves that fire in the fireplace. You are the Good Will queen. You always find the best treasures. I'm not looking in the right places or the wrong time or something. Thank you so much for joining my first party.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, it looks amazing. What i wouldn't give to be cozied up next to that amazing fire right now.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful!

Debbie I would love to join you and the staff for cappuccino in front of the fire. I love your fall touches. I am making a few myself but nothing as pretty as yours. Thanks for joining in Junkin Finds!! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI do love your santos, very unique. One of the favorite ones I have seen. Happy birthday to you.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, I always love visiting you and seeing your beautiful home. Your Fall touches are stunning and create such a warm and cozy room. It was colder in Georgia than here in Virginia.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sherry
Love it all, so magazine worthy!!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so beautiful and cozy!! I just love fires in the fireplace! Your decor is so stunning and your birthday present is just gorgeous. I have never seen those before. Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, isn't this cool snap fabulous? Not exactly cool enough to have a fire going here, but I have been in a sweater all day. Hope it lasts!
ReplyDeleteYour home is always so warm and welcoming but with all these fall touches it is especially so. Love you Santos cage doll. I'm going to check out the site. I love the look, but not certain I'd have a spot. She is so sweet.
Everything looks fantastic. You really know how to pull it all together. The silver try rimmed with grapes and leaves is fabulous, and obviously perfect for you!
Happy Fall! ~ Sarah
The word that I would use to describe your room is inviting! Lovely and so well put togethe. I love all the warmth in your decor and your wonderful fall embellishments. I am bookmaking this room!
ReplyDeleteYvonne
Your living room is so welcoming and warm!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Everything looks so warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall Debbie! Your room is beautiful and it's nice to see you giving the staff a well deserved 15 minute break:@)
ReplyDeleteYou are one of my favorite decorators in Blogland..everything you do is warm and inviting and so do-able. So many times, the rooms are beautiful but you can tell it took a lot of $'s to pull it off. Your rooms make me know that, if I work really hard, I can have the warmth and personality you have in your rooms.
ReplyDeleteWill your plates on the fireplace get too hot?
I usually don't care for mirrors over the mantel because they show the ceiling too much for me. However, with your pretty wreath, this mirror looks great..:))
xo bj
Beautiful room Debbie, I love how you have the plates hanging in the fireplace. The throw added to the chair made such a differance, changed the feel of the chair all together. You have such a warm and inviting home. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSandy
As always I feel so at home when I stop by for a visit. We just got through the wedding so hopefully I can have more time to stop by. How I would love to curl up with you and a kitty by the fire for a nice chat. Love all your warm details. Funny, my grandson loved the corn candy till I bought the autumn mix..then he wanted the bigger full candy pumpkins! lOL!
ReplyDeleteDonna
Hi Debbie! Glad you're getting a cool snap. Oh, what a beautiful Fallen living room you have! Every inch looks so pretty and your little kitties just make it all the more cozy! Love your decorating, friend.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Oooo! So warm and inviting. I love your decorating style. It is beautiful. And kitty makes it look so cozy.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I die!
ReplyDeleteYour fall decor looks so wonderfully cozy. I know you enjoy spending time by the fire in this gorgeously decorated room.
ReplyDelete39 degrees? YIKES. I was griping yesterday because it was 50 and raining when I left the house LOL. The fire does look lovely, and Baby Kitty matches the decor beautifully :) Your home looks so warm and inviting, I love using the wreath on the inside of the door. Why should door to door salesman get all the joy - ha! Hope you are having a great week. Hugs, Kat
ReplyDeleteYour room is so lovely. I dribbled a couple pumpkins around here and there, but you really put my autumnal decor to shame. Very cozy and welcoming.
ReplyDelete:)
ButterYum
Debbie, so cozy! Love your mantle decor and those pumpkins on the pots - love that!
ReplyDelete"Ooo, la la... I am there! What a gorgeous room and lovely cats to just add the purr-fect touch. I am intrigued as to how you have tiny china things sitting around without the young-uns knocking them over. Since Rae-Rae arrived I have to be decorating as if a small child was visiting. I posted before about the hutch but I have to say again that "It is spectacular" Love the white dishes. Hugs, Deb =^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteOh, Debbie... it looks so cozy and charming! And the cats just make it! You know, I think they are my favorite ornaments of any home. And that Baby Kitty is even color-coordinated for fall in his orange and white suit! ;-) Fred just said, "Awwwwwwwwwwww" when I showed him Baby Kitty's picture, and I echo the sentiment. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove all of your goodies, and I can just tell how excited you are about all of your great finds. There is nothing I love better than a good deal, and your house just looks super.
I wish I could find a bit of fabric like what you have on your footstool to cover the seat of a chair in our study. Love it. It's so cute!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Everything looks beautiful, warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a cappucino with you and your lovely staff! It all looks beautiful Debbie. Very cozy, warm and inviting. I'd never heard of a santos doll, now I'm going to have to want one...lol. Maybe that will be next weeks Iwanna post huh?
ReplyDeleteI am going to go in the kitchen and make myself a cup of coffee. I saw that roaring fire and cozy seating arrangement and all your pretties (and of course the kitties), and decided I'd just join you on this end! Love your home!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Deb, it all looks so cozy and inviting, I would love to be sitting and chatting there with you. Oh what a good time we would have, Miss you, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteDebbie - would love to curl up on your sofa and just take it all in. So comfy looking and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteYour entire area is just beautiful and you've taken such care with all your accent pieces!
Your home is so lovely and the fall decor adds to the coziness-love the throws, plates and tiny pumpkins-you have a real eye for setting a stage!
ReplyDeleteCozy and charming! Plates on the wall and kitties by the fire...sets the stage for a real homey home in my book! I am looking at your fireplace and then up at mine and thinking...plates on the mantle? Yes, I love it! I am a new follower and fellow plate addict!
ReplyDeleteHello dear Debbie
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while. I'm still around.
Your home looks so inviting. The kitties all look so comfy. I know how happy you are when you find GW treasures, but that beautiful Santos cage doll is TDF!! Very unique Deb. LOVE IT.

ReplyDeleteYou really do have a gorgeous home Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI am always in awe of all your great decorating and that you do it on a budget makes it even sweeter!
Love the cozy fire too!
We may have snow soon so I think our Autumn is slipping away!
And your right about vitamins. I think I need to find some good ones because this Grandma thing is wearing me out! But I love it!
Hugs
Cindy
Oh my goodness! How lovely your living room is. I need to get on the fall decorating thing. I love Halloween so much, its hard for me to take down those decorations, but the time has come, I'm afraid. Thanks for some great inspiration!

Debbie your home is so beautiful!! Love your beautiful cat and the fireplace!! Your fall decorations are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery warm and inviting! I wouldn't mind stretching out in front of that fire myself!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI have thoroughly enjoyed the tour of your fall living room, entry and dining room. Love how you walked us through all the details and where you got them. I especially love that china. It looks incredible in your hutch. Everything looks so warm and inviting. Your kitties (staff) seem to be enjoying the warmth of the fire. Happy Fall to you! xo Delores
Oh my, Debbie, I'm completely in love with your decorating. It's just beautiful. I still have fall in my dining room and kitchen, but the living room has already gone Christmas. ;-) I just love your fire place and your kitties. What a wonderful post and what a beautiful home you have.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday,
Susan @ CluckleBees
Gorgeous!! Love it all!! That little frenchy boy was quite the awesome find!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your kitties! You know how I love me some kitty cats! Isn't it so cute how they tuck their little paws up? My Bella likes to go outside...makes me NUTS!! But that is just her personality...I wish I could tell you how many nights I walk down my street trying to quietly call her name....I know my neighbors think I am nuts. Hopefully, now that it is getting cooler, she will sat in more!
Have a great weekend!
Lou Cinda :)
Nicely done! Do enjoy the cozy fire for me. The fireplace in my 1907 house still burns coal, so we don't use it. Someday I hope to find a small enough gas insert and retrofit the fireplace, but that hasn't made it to the top of the To Do List yet. Today is cold and damp here... The perfect fireplace weather!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie~
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful living room!!!! It is so warm and inviting! I adore your Santos doll and the crown she has is just delightful! I have a couple myself and love them- One of the very first posts I ever did was about Santos dolls! I also see you have three of my favorite design books on your table! Love it all~ thank you so much for sharing this at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
WOW! Your fall living room is beautiful.I love the mirror and the wreath over the fireplace... and the plates on the face of the fireplace.

ReplyDeleteYour living room is truly wonderful. I love all your personal touches thorought. I think I need to start the fall look in my home too.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so cozy and warm in your living room. I would love to have that footstool and throw, but my cat likes to eat the fringe on things. Love that Santos doll. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, Your home looks so cozy!! Everything looks so beautiful with all your special touches.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Debbie...your home is so warm and welcoming! I am loving it all but especially the mantel and that gorgeous mirror :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
It's beautiful! I'm so jealous... I won't get to decorate like that this year...but it's because I'll be moving into my new house soon so at least that part is exciting! LOL!
ReplyDeleteTania
This looks so warm and inviting. Hang on, I'll be over in a minute!
ReplyDeleteHow warm and cozy your living room looks with a fire in the fireplace and your cat curled up. All your decorations are lovely and so inviting. I wish I could say it was going to warm up here. I am envious you live in the South and I don't.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI am still loving your fall mantel. The mirror and all the rest of it look fabulous.
Your staff eats the real plants? So does ours, but they'll go for the faux also.....
Thank you so much for your incredibly encouraging comment on Modern Country Style. I had to rush straight over to say thank you.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like a cat, is there, to cosy things up!! I love the picture of one of your cats curled up by the roaring fire. The epitome of bliss in my book!
I love France too. I did French A-level (in England...I'm Englsih, you see!) at school, though I'm rather rusty now though.
How amaing that you lived in France for a year. I'm sure that must have been a wonderful experience....but I think it says a lot about you that you felt pulled back home near your family.
Give me my family over France any day....though maybe a bit of France too?!!
Lovely to meet you,
Sarahx
Oh Debbie, I love your Santos! She's beautiful, and I will be going to check out that site. Thanks for giving the link. Your Fall decor looks so pretty, and that photo of Baby Kitty in front of the fire looks like it should be framed. She's beautiful. Of course, when I saw your Frenchy little boy, I immediately became jealous AGAIN of your GW Store. He is wonderful, and what a buy!! Thanks for linking up. I'm off to see the Santos site. laurie

ReplyDeleteI just stopped by to do a little blog reading this morning before heading off to work... I'm envious of your beautiful fall livingroom... I especially loved the Santos Cage Doll. I've been looking for one off and on for some time... followed your link... and purchased my own! I actually ended up purchasing the exact same one as you without knowing until I came back to leave the comment. And one of the best parts... they take PayPal payments! Hope all is well with you and yours. Things are busy here in French Lique.
Holiday blessings. Dixie

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing, cozy, warm, beautiful! Not only you house is extremely well decorated, but also that chair, that pillow, that cappuccino!
A perfect post... added by the french music playing... life feels good right now. :-)
By the way, I have a new post about an Australian online magazine that I think you'll love be really inspired by it. Go take a look if you have some time and let me know what you think, ok?
Thanks!!! :-)

You have such a cozy home, love the slipcovered chair and your pretty hutch filled with china. I too am a confessed plate addict. I have a pretty cement finial on my coffee table too, it was a great price but certainly not as good as yours! What a bargain. I am now following your lovely blog, have a wonderful day, tami
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your living room looks so warm and inviting. You certainly have the touch! I hang a wreath on the inside too. We just got a new door though, so I don't know how that is going to work out!
ReplyDeleteYou think your Santos looks Frenchy...is bald frenchy, LOL!
Have a good week!

ReplyDeleteyour home is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing all the photos and the stories. I enjoyed myself very much!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so inviting. I really like how you used small items clustered to make an impact, the reedy pumpkin in the foyer caught my eye, too. <3 the Santos and I already have one, I'm checking it out none-the-less.
ReplyDeleteWell, girl, you are gonna think I am a stalker..I've been over to drool over your beautiful living room...all your rooms, about 25 times. I am going to move all my whites to my dining room hutch and try my best to make it look as pretty as yours. :))
ReplyDeleteDon't you love all the inspiration we get from blogging..? I surely do.
xo bj
I had a hard time scrolling through all of the posts. What a fun fall living room. I love the mirror above the fireplace. It adds such dimension to a room. The Santos doll is adorable, a real find. Love all of the little pumpkins scattered around. thanks for sharing on Tabletop Tues.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your fall decor, Debbie. I love the Santos and love all your vignettes. Your home looks so cozy. I lit the fireplace yesterday too. It's been getting cold at night but still in the 60's and 70's here during the day so it's nice...Christine
ReplyDeleteSo warm and inviting! We're still waiting for cold enough weather for a fire. I love all the pops of autumn colors that you have.
ReplyDeleteVery cozy! Loved all your fall touches here and there. Of course the kitty in front of the fire..is really cute and cozy!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your room is cozy and pretty and the fall touches are just right. Of course the kitty and the fire also add to the inviting decor! I had a fire yesterday too, as it was hailing here. I'm going to check out that santos link--the little cherub is so cute. Linda
ReplyDeleteLove your fall decor. Woner why a fire makes us feel cozy? That chair looks like a good place to curl up and read the afternoon away.
ReplyDeleteI love your fall living room! Wow, you and I love so many of the same things - your decor is totally my taste! I found you on MM, and am now a follower. Hopefully you'll stop by my blog and maybe decide to follow me too :)

Your photos with the fire look so lovely Debbie. I love your fall decor. It seems to stay warmer longer and longer in California and it's hard to get in the fall mood when the leaves are mostly still green! We did wear long sleves the last two days but the temps keep swinging back and forth from the 60's to 80's Not that I'm complaining! It's nice but football games just aren't the same when you don't freeze your tail off!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dawn
Too many things - I LOVE! Of course the blue dishes and I love the mirror above the fireplace with wreath. Thanks for sharing your fall living area with us, joining you at Marty's.
ReplyDeleteYour room warmed me up just looking at it! It's getting cold in Maryland too and we don't have a fireplace! Your home is lovely and I really like your wreath on the back of your door. Wish we had a Hobby Lobby around here!
ReplyDeleteSheila
I loved your fall warmth in every corner of your lovely home. The kitten is so cute in front of the fireplace. Your many references to your GW finds makes me smile. I too am a fan of GW and go there every chance I get. Going often is the secret of success.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall.
Hugs, Jeanne
