This soap is actually from our trip to Côté Soleil back in November on my sister's birthday. It was made in Provence and has herbs in it. Can you see them? It smells wonderful! The whole bathroom is filled with the most delightful fragrance. You might also notice that my family is forbidden to use it...lol!! I don't want the word Provence to wash away!!
Here's another one of my finds. Isn't it a cutie? It's a mouse! I love mice...yes, I know...and goats and crows! I love them so much that in high school my nickname was Mouse. lol It's a good thing they didn't know about the goats or the crows!!
Look at his little tail. It curls around and helps to keep him standing. I love his little profile! Isn't he the cutest thing? Have you figured out what he is?
He's a candle holder!! Isn't he precious? The book behind him is normally the perch of someone else...
It's Mr. Cat!!! He looks like he is pleased to have a new neighbor!
Maybe a little too pleased!! lol
Here's another one of my treasures...a bunny print for my guest bedroom...which is still in the works. Very much still in the works. I am planning on showing it on Metamorphosis Monday eventually, but right now it is so bad, it needs before-before pictures! But that's another post. Back to the bunny...isn't he cute? That's the bedding I will be using behind him. I like the black and cream toile with the red. But there's more...
He has a brother! Isn't he a cutie, too? And the comforter has a black and cream windowpane check on the reverse side! Several other elements of the bedding are also in the check. There is also a black and cream stripe and...
Hey! Baby Kitty! Don't you see I'm talking to the people? What are you doing? Where's Isabella? Ohhhhh....that bump in the comforter is Isabella! I don't seem to be able to do a post without my trusty assistants! Now where was I? Oh, yes...
Here they are together! I have turned the comforter so you can see both sides. Which one should I use? The toile or the windowpane check? Both will be in the room, but I can choose which one to emphasize. What do you think? Hmmmm....
Now this one is a little guessing game. What is it? It looks like a little porcelain book, doesn't it? The colors are what first attracted me. I love blue and yellow!! It's so cheerful!
If you turn it, you can see the words, The gift is small...Good will is all written along the side of the little book. Any guesses yet?
Now it begins to get really interesting! There's a cork!! What can it be? It is obviously intended to hold a liquid! I bet I know what you are thinking! The clerk thought the same thing when she was ringing it up. No...it's not a lady's flask! Give up??
I left the tag on so you would believe me!! It is a reproduction of a Williamsburg lady's hand warmer! Warm water would be put inside and a lady could keep her hands warm by holding it! Did you guess correctly? I also like the fact that it came from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I've never been there and would love to go. But now I have something from their gift shop!
Well, that's it for now! Those are my little goodies. And you see, I didn't even need the U-Haul! After all, this was non-virtual money! However, my friend Linda and I have another trip planned soon. Who knows what might jump into my trunk next time!
Debbie I need that hand warmer girl not only is it pretty...but its so cold here..love the toile and I want to do my guest room in that also but pink and yellow toile..you got some great things that jumped into your truck..thanks for sharing..hugs and smiles Gloria
ReplyDeleteYour goodies are all so lovely. I love the "soupterrine" and the handwarmer. BOth so special.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWe're moving out of the deep freeze, forecast is for 20 above 0 today ( I may have to get out the shorts). I love all of your little shopping finds, I have the soap dish at home but I sure would like that mouse/cup candle holder. I can't wait to see your guest bedroom, I'm still torn, but I think I will vote for the toile. Cindy
What fabulous finds! I love those bunny prints, but that hand warmer is precious. I wonder how many ladies used these as a flask (why warm only your hands lol) As far as the comforter, both sides are gorgeous, but I think I have to vote for the toile (turn down the top so the check peeks out?) Can't wait to see the room. Hugs, Kathy
ReplyDeleteOh DEbbie, your treasures are just fabulous. I love them all, the mouse is so cute especially with the kitty sitting beside him. Your soap dish is just great and the bunny prints are soooooo cute. I think the hand warmer is the most interesting, those ladies were very fashionable. I agree with Kathy about the toile with the check turned down, but you can always reverse it the other way, how neat to have options. I can't wait to see the room. You always do such great things. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Deb,I'm so excited for you. This is all precious.I love the toile the best,of course...And those bunnies.wow.I NEVER see bunnie pics.If I did I would have them all over the place.
ReplyDeleteI found a soap dish,just like yours,except it says SOAP on it.What a treasure...Ann
Very fun treasures! I love the comforter you showed us - both sides are adorable. But you know I always go for the toile - I can't help myself. Thanks for sharing your fun shopping with us!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I love all of your finds! You could be my personal shopper, because I would be pleased with anything you found! I love that hand warmer. What a neat find! I also would have picked it up because of the blue and yellow. And then to read what it was would have just sealed the deal, and it would have been coming home with me. laurie
ReplyDeleteOooooh ....aaaaah...loved all of your finds! How lucky to have spotted those! I still haven't been to the one in Alpharetta, although I frequent the Queen of Hearts in Marietta on Canton Hwy. when I get a chance.
ReplyDeleteTrying to think of an event to attend that all of us Atlanta area girls can meet up... any thoughts?
Where oh where do you store all of your dishes, girl?
Debbie, prof en retraite - Please go visit my blog to accept your Award I've given you today! =) Lovely post as ususal...can't wait to return when I can "bask" in it and grab a cookie and tea... Have a blessed day! ~CC Catherine
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI totally love your sugar bowl/jewelry repository. I use a little container in the kitchen to hold my watch and rings that was designed to hold artificial sweetener packets. It rests behind the sink faucets, so is always at hand. I bought it to match my teas rose china. I do have one that holds Splenda, but the other one I use when I remove my jewelry, to clean up in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYour soap dish is a wonderful acquisition also. Your kitty is adorable in his stalking/crouching position. Looks to me like you had a good trip.
Hi Glenda! It is always so nice to have a visit from you! I see we have something in common...Splenda!! I keep mine in the creamer that matches my sugar bowl. Gotta have my Splenda! It used to be hard to get it in restaurants...more expensive, I guess...so I always kept some in my purse. Now everyone seems to have it. Are you freezing down there like we are? Keep warm!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, I would say you did very well on your shopping trip.I love every piece you bought.I love mice also,I have a darling mouse lamp,of course it is a lamp,my addiction, and he is reading a book.I thought the hand warmer was a bank. Now that is an object for many conversations. We women love to shop so it is always fun to do it vicariously. Thanks for sharing this was another great post,Hugs Kathysue
ReplyDeleteWhat great things jumped into your trunk! I love the check/toile, but I would have to pick the check. A few years ago I went to a perfume/soap factory in Grasse. I tucked soaps all in my suitcase, and it still smells faintly of lavender.
ReplyDeleteHey--the South is supposed to warm up today! I've had to keep the basement faucets dripping.
You got some great goodies here;) Love the little mouse;) French xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou found some amazing treasures.
ReplyDeleteI love the soap dish. Very pretty!
Wow Debbie, I love all of your new treasures! Hurry up Monday! I want to see your guest room! I like the toile side. What does your bedskirt look like? ♥ Diane
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Debbie, the mouse is just the cutest thing going.. A person would have to smile at that every day wouldn't they? And those rabbit pictures darling, really; you know they need to make it to my home. Your toile looks very similar to what I have.. Gotta love that toile..Or anyway I do. lol How is Butterbean and Page doing? I pray much better.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a terrific w/k.
hugs ~lynne~
Debbie, I actually found a small dispenser that holds tiny Splenda tablets that I carry in my purse. I believe I got it at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteWeather here is supposed to moderate today as far as the cold is concerned, low tonight expected to come in around 37, but the TV says there is a 70% chance of rain tomorrow and the temps tomorrow night are expected to be in the 30s. We'll be fine.
Hope you warm up also. Saw on TV that North Georgia could get a bit of snow tonight and Sunday. Try to stay off the roads if you can.
I forgot to tell you.I love the little mouse too.I just google pink. It's amazing.I get different things everytime I do.But the really good things, they won't let me copy.baaaaaaaa.ha...Ann
ReplyDeleteBeautiful items...and I love your little helpers!
ReplyDeleteGood shopping trip.....love the hand warmer and the bunny prints.
ReplyDeleteI love your found treasures! The soap dish, and the soap! I would not let them use it either! The hand warmer is wonderful! That is a new one for me! Love the bunnies, Oh and the mouse with the tea cup is asking for a Miss Mouse Tea Party soon! I just love it! Love your comforter too!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, what a cute post! I love all of your goodies, and that cat looking at the mouse is so whimsically displayed. Love it! And that goodie from Williamsburg is a steal! And I love your bunnies and the comforter, and I particularly love your assistants. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi...
ReplyDeleteVery fun treasures! I love the comforter you showed us - both sides are adorable..... The hand warmer is wonderful! That is a new one for me!....... And I love your bunnies too....
See my friend - we have the same taste. I have the same mini pink soup tureen. :-) I love all your goodies. We would be awesome shopping partners, although we might end of arm wrestling for some of them. LOL BTW, I have a ladies hand warmer, too. Its called a glass of red wine. hahaha
ReplyDeleteOh Barb...you are sooooo funny!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Wow...LOTS of goodies came home with you! This is even better than the virtual shopping spree. I truly love everything!
ReplyDeleteI love that you put that cute mouse candle holder with Mr. Cat...very clever. Your bunny prints are ideal to go in your room with that gorgeous black and white toile. And...I don't blame you one bit for not wanting the "Provence" washed out of your perfect French bar of soap. :-) Enjoy all of your lovely new purchases...that sounds like a delightful place to shop. I wish I were further North.
Hi Debbie....the toile for sure..I guess I will have to make a trip over to Alpharetta. Your finds intrigued me...
ReplyDelete.....love the soapdish ....and I would totally do something like that - not allow my family to use it LOL
ReplyDelete..and the mouse and book are perfect together !
Cheers,
Bre
the mouse... the mouse! I adore the mouse... and the mischievous vignette you placed him in... how clever of you Miss Deb... so cute... the rest is wonderful as well... but for me.. it's the mouse!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, Love the post, love the bunnies, love the black/white toile and checks, very French! "Francais & Chic" =) Didn't know you lived so near me. I go to the Queen of Hearts all the time with my husband, we love that store. I've gotten some real gems too, my favorite is the chandelier on the top banner of my blog for Catherine de th`e Cups. Yes sirree, that's where I got it, our 25th anniversary gift to ourselves. I'm hoping some of us Georgia bloggers can have a get together this spring or summer.....I'll bring home made scones! ~CC Catherine
ReplyDeleteHope you have a beautiful weekend! ♥ Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to catch up from the comments on my Christmas table scape...thaank you, dear.
ReplyDeleteI've added you to my favs.
I think our hearts beat at the same time.
I have a gene in my body for dishes.
Beautiful finds! I especially love the mouse candleholder. I have a little lamp in my son's room that is a small mouse reading a book. There is something about mice, they are so cute.....as long as they are not real and in the house that is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over and looking at my fabrics. It's good to hear from other people how things look together. I'm starting to have that moment of doubt where I look at the things I bought and wonder if it will all pull together. I'll definitely post the room on one of Susan's metamorphisis Mondays, I'm just not sure which one it will be! Tomorrow I'll be posting something else though, I can't wait to see what everyone shares, it should be fun!
~Michelle
Thanks for Pink Saturday fun, glad to hear from you~thank you too for your wonderful encouragement! LOL loved the song...go for it Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI am not covered up with pink here, at our cottage, The Painted Nest, LOL so that SAT was a stretch for me!! :) LOL
I am running behind on my comments as I have been traveling for work :)
But oooo lalalala more goodies and delights??? LOL I think I love the bunny candle holder the best...but it is a close race, because the hand warmer is a truly neat find!
Hi Debbie, what a lovely shopping trip, and what a cashe of lovely treasures. The mouse candle holder is so very cute. But then the bunnie pictures are most delightful. All in all a wonderful show of great finds. Thanks for the visit at my place, hope to see you soon. TTFN
ReplyDeleteLove the name of your blog!!!! As a chintz collector, I have more plates than I can confess to or I'll will surely be put in a padded room!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics of your "assistants" too! So, so, cute!!! That candle holder is just darling!!!
M ^..^
GM Debbie...thank you for coming by and your prayers for my baby Kyra..she sure has had a rough way to go so far..girl I found the cutest little dress for her yesterday and can't wait to send it and her her in it..take care der friend...hugs and smiles Gloria
ReplyDeleteDebbie, those items are all really cute treasures. I really like the sugar bowl & bread plate in the bathroom, what a clever idea. I also really like the print, is it Johnson Bros.? Yesterday I purchased two cute Johnson Bros. bread plates for my dining room wall at Marshall’s. They only had the bread plates. I was disappointed, because I have been searching stores for the platters & plates, but I cannot find any.
ReplyDeleteYour assistants seem to behave like my assistants. But, aren’t they wonderful?? They bring so much fun and pleasure into your life. They really love to participate in projects!!
I think you should use the toile side of the comforter. It is so ironic, because I was searching the internet this morning for a red toile coverlet for my bedroom. I think I am going with the one at JC Penny’s. I want to change up the look in my bedroom in the spring.
As always, I love all of your goodies, they are very cute. Have a great day.
Nicole ~
Debbie, you really got some treasures on your shopping trip! That seems to be a wonderful place to shop. My favorite is the mouse candle holder!!! But coming close behind are the iron soap holder and the hand warmer. The bunny picutres are pretty, too, but the mouse is my favorite. BTW, I like the bunny pictures best on the window check. Can't wait to see what you decide. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what my favorite is but I'm drooling over the sugar bowl/tureen dish. I love any transferware, any color! Love the bunny print too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting on my blog. Unfortunately, I AM old enough to remember The Birds and it's exactly what I thought of!
All your finds are very appealing treasures. I have the same blue, white and yellow hand warmer, which I rodered from the Metropolitan Museum's sale catalog years ago.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, What a fun shopping trip! Wouldn't Mr. Mousey be great in a tablescape?!
ReplyDelete:-) :-) :-)
Susan
Wonderful finds, Debbie! I love them all, but I think my favorite is the mouse.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading...I need to post another on Milly and Lilly.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteYour treasures are beautiful! What a great "haul" you came home with. I especially love your rabbits for your bedroom and love your toile comforter. I am hoping to do my bedroom in these colors as well so you have given me some great ideas.
I haven't heard about this store in Alpharetta - I will have to check it out. I am always looking for new places to find unique items.
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Kymber
Oh Debbie~~I just love all your finds! My favorite has to be the hand warmer! That is so cool...and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteYou've also got great assistants...where would we be without them?! :-) L~
Hi Debbie...I can't wait to see your guest room redo with the gorgeous toile & bunny prints...Your home is filled with the most unusual and romantic things! ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteGood morning and thanks for the nice comments on our garage. My husband is a very patient man, he teaches high school kids building construction and woodworking. For the past 8 years they have built a home each year. I don't know how he does it but someday I'll post some pics of the houses they have built. Are you working on your tablescape? I'm looking forward to another one of yours. Anyway, I'm off to work--- have a nice Monday. Cindy
Debbie, I left an award for you today!
ReplyDelete~Linda
Thank you sweetie for visiting my kitchen again. My favorite is still the coffee area, but like I said to Lynne if you put a coffee pot on the hood of my car it would become my favorite spot haha. Have fun at your daughters, and if you get snow, STAY INSIDE and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteAre you doing another tablescape? I can't wait to see it. Hugs, Kathy
I love your new treasures. That mouse is adorable. I have a growing affection for cute little mice accent pieces.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Terrie
