A "Where's the Tent?" Sale...or...Let's Go Shopping!

I need some new lights. Want to go shopping with me? Not far from me they have a lighting tent sale every weekend...only, there's more than just lighting and it's not in a tent. They have other stuff, too. The other stuff is now 50% off of the previous price, which was pretty low to start with.

I went straight for the rooster. He's cute and at $279...hmmm...carry the 1... That's $139.50! Not bad at all!

I like this little clock. Hmmm...it's only $9.50! (I'll spare you my oral price computations. I talk to my self waaaay too much anyway. Or, as my grandson says, "Granny, you have a problem with that.") Those fleur-de-lis always scream "Buy me!"

Ohhhh....more frenchiness! Look, it says Hotel Vieux and it's only about $25. You can't tell here, but it was big, too.

Well, now this one is a puzzle. It's some sort of flower box. And is that a man riding an elephant with a flower trying to grab a frog wearing a crown?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! I love anything with grapes! This one is a real beauty and only $29.50.! You know, the more I look at this one, the more I think I will have to go back out there next weekend and get it.

Now, if you'll remember from our sign, lighting is not included in the extra 50% off, so this one really is $20. Hmmm...maybe if you paint it black. And it needs a new shade. No, no! Here I go...just once I'd like to buy something that didn't need tweaking!

Here's one for the bunny fans. I think it was about $59. Hmmm...those little dangles have to go. Looks like somebody already agreed with me.

Somebody please explain this one to me...seriously! It's a little stool...

...that says "The Swan." Did I miss the book report on this one or something?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! Another rooster! You know I love it! But I already have a rooster chandelier. Maybe he needs a brother! Noooo...I'll just show you a few of the more interesting chandeliers that I saw there.

Look at this one! Can you see what it is? A ship! The photo doesn't do it justice! Isn't it unusual? But it doesn't match my decor. Maybe Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand need a chandelier.

This one reminds me of a merry-go-round, or a carousel, if you prefer. We always said merry-go-round where I come from. But then, I've had to learn to say purse instead of pocket book so people don't make fun of me!

This is for you pineapple fans. I can't for the life of me figure this one out! Why would you put a light inside a giant pineapple with almost no way for the light to show through? Maybe you put it outside and turn it on at night.

This one was actually all green and sparkly. I'm not sure what type of decor it matches. Any guesses? Hmmm.......

Here's one for all you monkey fans.

I guess this is what they now call "mid-century modern." To me, it's just the way things looked when I was a little girl. Hey...I think they stole this from the diner!

Now, ladies....prepare yourselves for the best bargain of the day! If you buy this chandelier for your mansion....

...you can save $15,001! Isn't that a deal????
Now you are wondering what I bought, but I can't show you because I still need to tweak them!

I hope you enjoyed our little shopping trip. I know everyone will be busy this week, so I just want to say thank you for how welcoming you have been to this fledgling blogger. Enjoy this time with your families. I know I will. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! .....Debbie

  2. Tell your Grandson next time that you like to hear "smart people talk".

Unfortunately I have no room for the treasures you've shown, but I enjoyed the trip immensely.

Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.

  3. Debbie, I'm not sure what just happened to my last post! There's a gremlin on here that didn't like it. Maybe it was one of the kitties -- you know how Jellicles can be. Sneaky like that, and they might be jealous because I was encouraging you to get a goat! My brother in law (doctor by day, goat nanny by night) had a Nubian as a pet who used to go walking with his dogs and him in the late afternoon. His kids gifted him with the goat because he loved gourmet cooking that always called for goat milk. As with all of his hobbies, that one lasted about fifteen minutes, but the goat lasted a lot longer. ;-)

When I was so rudely interrupted I was telling you that you had all sorts of shiny baubles on your post that make a magpie's eyes light up like a Christmas tree. Hmmm... maybe it wasn't the cats. Maybe Mr. Magpie set a trap before I could ask where that sale is!

Love your blog. You're doing a great job!

    XO,

Sheila... who wishes she had taken French in high school and didn't and now sounds like the Ellie May Clampett of France when she attempts to pronounce French words!

  4. Oh, now I see, Debbie! You have one of those things on here to keep out the riff-raff. You can just delete the first post and keep the second. If you even got post number one. I think I hit the wrong button. Technology is not my friend. And you can delete this one, too, if you wish. Happy Monday!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  17. Oh Debbie, I need to fly out there and go shopping. I would be in soooo much trouble if I had that store near me. Today I would like to purchase the mirror the bunny lamp and the ship chadeleir for my sons house. I kid you not I have seen that chand. 3 times in my design magazines in designers homes for a price that made me realize it would always have to be a dream item for me. I am blown away at that price. You have to get the mirror and the french clock and I really like the rooster light fixture and table for your house. See how easy it is to spend other peoples money, haha. Another great post my friend, I hope you take frequent trips back here. I loved it. Hugs to you, Kathysue

I'm hoping you went back and got the mirror.. It was such a bargain and just down right gorgeous. Now about all the bling hanging..that is a bargain in anyones book..not mine however..lol..I'm so in love with the bunny lamp..I'm almost in the need of calling 911...I would have to remove all the baubles..but I love that bunny lamp... :-) thanks so much for sharing your fun day..

  23. Debbie, I haven't heard of this place...uh,oh...another place for me to go get into trouble! :-) Have you heard about the Speer Collectible Warehouse sell that happens every 6 months. I won't go into a lot of details, just in case you already have...but it's great lamps and accessories for hugely reduced prices. If you want more info. just e-mail me at betweennapsontheporch@gmail.com

  32. Hi Debbie,
Great post and I really would love to go shopping with you, you have a great way of looking at things.

Hey, I had a theory about that SWAN bench. Maybe someone bought it and it was ugly and not painted, you know like the ugly duckling. But with hard work and a little love they turned in into THE SWAN?
