Pottery Barn Inspired No-Sew Valentine Tea Towel

I have another fun and easy Valentine project to share with you…and even though it may look like I embroidered it, this tea towel doesn’t require a single stitch because it’s an iron-on transfer! And once again, I am a big fat copy cat…inspired by Pottery Barn as you will see in a moment!

KittyMy scheduled co-host for today, Miss Kitty, is busy enjoying the sunshine for this first sunny weekend we have had since November! No kidding! Sooo…I will just let her enjoy!

Pottery Barn As soon as I saw this You + Me towel on Pottery Barn’s web site, I knew that would be my next project! It must have been popular because it has already disappeared!

You Me graphic reversed
And I knew the embroidered look would be easy to imitate since I had already tweaked a French monogram alphabet that I found at The Graphics Fairy! I just cropped out and combined the letters that I needed. I have reversed it here to be used as an iron-on transfer. Just print the graphic and follow the directions on the package to apply it. (I used Avery brand transfers for light fabrics.) I used a super-inexpensive tea towel from IKEA so mine is not exactly like the one on the Pottery Barn web site….but it sure was cheaper! I already had everything I needed so mine was free!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pottery Barn Inspired No-Sew Tea TowelAnd here it is! It will be a fun addition to my Valentine decor…and I love the vintage look! And…if it looks familiar…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT DIY Vintage French Linens…it is because I used the same monogram and IKEA tea towel for my DIY vintage French linens! I love this idea…creating a vintage look without having to spend all that money!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Valentine Wreath with Sweater HeartsAnd just in case you missed it, here’s my rustic farmhouse Valentine wreath…just the right amount of a Valentine feel without being too cutesy for me!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Fun Valentine IdeasAnd here are even more fun ideas for Valentine’s Day…including several pillows. And if you know me, I am sure you have guessed that even more pillows are on the way…so stay tuned!

  4. Your towels are great!! Will have to try my hand at it. I normally don't do much for Valentines Day other than a wreath on the front door since my living room has a lot of red.
Have to get some Ikea towels.

  8. I love your Valentine towel and actually ventured out in the snow today to get the supplies I needed to make it. The iron-on transfer was no problem, but I could not find a towel that would work. Unfortunately, we do not have an IKEA , so I looked in every store that sells kitchen towels. No luck. I am so disappointed. :(

  9. I actually found similar towels...but thicker, nicer and more expensive...at Hancock's and I think they are at JoAnn's, too...vintage-look tea towels near the embroidery thread. I hope that helps!
