Welcome! I am so excited that you have come by for a visit! There are lots of wonderful homes to see in our All Things Home Fall Tour, so be sure to check the list at the end of this post and continue the tour! And don’t forget…there’s a beautiful $1500 Sarasota chest from Somerset Bay that will be given away to one of our visitors, so be sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post, too! Sooo…come on in and let’s start the tour!
Fall is my very favorite season so I am so happy that it has finally arrived officially! My little handmade rustic chalkboard sports a fall greeting in French…a reflection of the fact (just in case this is your first visit!) that I am a retired French teacher!
On the Chinese chest in the entry, you will find a fun arrangement made with pleated paper pumpkins and fall foliage…a really fun and easy project that even the kiddos can do!
And on my mom’s old drop leaf table, our hostess for the tour Miss Kitty awaits your arrival! She welcomes you into the living room.
On the rustic wooden tray you get a little peek at the theme for my fall decor this year, combining one of my loves…my collection of blue and white chinoiserie…with bittersweet and pumpkins!
A closer look and you may be able to tell that the books on the tray are by my favorite designer…Charles Faudree. I love his French Country style and have incorporated it as much as possible into my home but with a budget in mind, using lots of thrifing finds and my inexpensive frenchy projects! You can get a closer look at the French Country influences in my home from the summer tour by clicking here.
I always think of the mantel as the real centerpiece of a home’s decor…the element that makes a statement about the home owner’s style. So when I start decorating for the change of the seasons, this is where I start. This year, it’s the simple combination of blue and orange…an unexpected color combination for fall, I think, but one of my favorites!
Just a handful of pumpkins and a few sprigs of faux bittersweet scattered among some of my favorite blue and white pieces say fall for me! I also made the bittersweet wreath…for a song! You can get the details here.
And I cannot have a mantel without another one of my loves…my plates! These heavily-detailed grape plates help to give it some architectural interest.
I brought a touch of fall to my painted chest by adding a thrift store tureen filled with mums…
…and adding a few baby pumpkins to my vintage book bundle. That’s an antique Paris post card topping it off.
The dining room is one of my favorite rooms…where I display some of my favorite things! On top of the hutch, you can see a portion of my collection of double happiness jars…
…and my favorite blue and white Spode plates! I’ve added a few pumpkins…continuing the colors from the living room.
This is also where I display one of my most prized possessions…my mom’s Red Cliff ironstone tureen.
On the table…my ruffled burlap table runner…a fall and winter decorating staple at my house…heaped with pumpkins, pine cones and berries and dotted with my pewter candlesticks!
At each place…a grapevine wreath charger and my pewter flatware and goblets lend a rustic air to the table.
Another family treasure…my grandmother’s dough bowl…decorates the buffet each year. This is last year’s arrangement. I am waiting for our annual family trip to the pumpkin farm to fill it up this year…my source for those wonderful long-stemmed pumpkins!
My linen and burlap vintage French pumpkin pillow is making an another appearance this year. You can find instructions for making it including the free graphic by clicking here.
In the breakfast room, the decor is more casual. I’ve pulled out my favorite shabby box…another faithful standby…and filled it with yellow mums…
…with pots wrapped in burlap…and a fun new project this year…
…my no-sew shirt pumpkins! They are super easy, inexpensive and fun to make! You can find a complete tutorial here.
In the kitchen, the informal fall look continues. I am excited that I get to use my galvanized tray…a Pottery Barn outlet bargain…and the fun vintage-look galvanized milk bottle carrier that I found at an unexpected place…at a tractor supply store! You can get the details of that find plus a look at my other farmhouse style bargains here.
A baby pumpkin…you notice all of mine are orange this year…fills a vintage Wedgwood teacup. I know white is popular, but I just have to say that for me, fall just isn’t fall without orange!
I wish I could say that this is the way my patio looks right now, but it is still just too hot here in Georgia. This is a peek at how it looked at the end of October last year…one more month to go!
And then it will be time to think about hot chocolate, cozy blankets and sweater pillows…
…and enjoying a fire in the fireplace! Ahhh! But my co-host Baby Kitty says we will have to wait for that! Right now, we are still cranking up the air conditioning and dreaming of the day when the real fall weather will get here…and hoping that will be very soon!
Thanks so much for coming by! I hope you enjoyed your tour!
And…there are 24 more homes to see! I am loving this chance to have a little peek inside these beautiful homes all decorated for fall! Here’s a schedule in case you missed any and to give you a look at the homes that are coming in the next few days!

Deb - I stayed up until midnight to see your tour because I was sooooo excited. You did not let me down, my friend. Boy you have been busy and I love it all. Your table and hutch are my faves, thought. I love how full it is and depicts an Autumn Harvest. But, I lost my heart on that last pic of Baby Kitty by the fire. And I also goggled a little because I know you had to lay on the floor to take that shot and Baby K looks like she is saying "mom, what exactly are you doing?" LOL

Love all the nods to France, and your shirt pumpkins and burlap wrapped pots~I'm in Alabama trying hard to pretend it's fall also!
