My Rustic Thanksgiving Tablescape...Pumpkins and Pewter

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and PewterI am excited to show you my Thanksgiving tablescape this year…pumpkins and pewter! I have been enjoying using traditional pumpkins everywhere in my home this fall and decided to extend that to my table, too.

015 Thanksgiving is finally in the air here and I am not the only one who is excited! My co-host Miss Kitty is enjoying the beautiful, crisp weather with a little romp on the grandchildren’s play set! Hmmm…only bad thing about fall…we need to rake!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 2 Here’s the tablescape…a rustic Thanksgiving with old fashioned pumpkins, twiggy placemats, deer sheds and pewter! I usually like to use a tablecloth but felt that it would have a much more rustic look without it this time. Instead, I decided to use my ruffled burlap table runner to anchor the table and add more texture. You can find a detailed tutorial for it here.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter I love the contrast of the warm fall colors with the blue and white transferware in my hutch!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 6The inspiration…my version of the deer antler candle holders that I have been seeing everywhere! I just used one of my deer sheds…gotta love those because they were just dropped in the woods at shedding time…and added a few old candlesticks in varying sizes. The candles came from World Market…perfect color!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 8I set the table with my go-to Chris Madden Felice plates…a Goodwill bargain for a service for four at $10! Woo hoo! Love their chunky style! I am using my twiggy placemats to add texture and give it the rustic look that I love.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 10 And I have to say that I still love my wedding flatware…Gorham Octette pewter…and the matching goblets. I think the  pilgrims could sit at this table and feel at home! lol I added the napkins between the dinner and salad plate to allow for my place cards…

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 9 …a simple faux leaf (found at World Market) with my guests’ names written on them! I considered several other options…see more easy ideas for place cards here…but decided that I like this one best.
CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 5And if the centerpiece looks familiar, it’s because it is the same one I have had on my dining room table this fall...ever since the visit to the pumpkin patch netted me those wonderful long-stemmed pumpkins! I just added a few more mini pumpkins, some faux leaves and the candle arrangements!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Pumpkins and Pewter 11 And here’s a final look! I am loving all the textures and natural elements! And I think the burlap table runner is the perfect touch! It will be a small family dinner since the celebration with the extended family will have taken place earlier. There’s room for two high chairs…one at each end! I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday…seeing the people I love most in the world gathered around the table and making memories! Sigh! How about you? What’s your favorite holiday?

  1. I love this rustic look Debbie! The place mats really set the tone and of course your gorgeous burlap table runner (which I am also lucky to have one of...I think of you whenever I use it!!) I need to work on my table for this year now that I am home. I think it will once again be dinner for two. The kids are heading to family in So Georgia!
    hugs, Linda

  2. Miss Debbie, you outdid yourself this year, the addition of the pewter elements and the placemeats took it up a notch for sure!! I absolutely love your table and you know very well I am not even a orange-gal!! It is warm, inviting and beautifully appointed. Anyone would be honored to sit at your table. Christmas and Easter are my favorite holidays, but like you, any time we get family and loved ones around our table is a good day!! Happy Monday,

  3. Thank you for bringing orange pumpkins back in style...everyone has gone crazy over the little baby boo's, which I love but I'm a traditionalist by heart! The color also goes so well with your blue and white. Very pretty...I love the leaf place cards and the rustic twig place mats, too! Beautiful!
