I love fall…and frenchiness…and antiquing! Sooo…you can imagine how much fun I had heading out with my friend Linda from Nina’s Nest with a little of all three in mind! And since our Goodwill hunting netted nothing, we made a stop at our favorite antiques and interiors shop…the Queen of Hearts in Alpharetta, Georgia where we can always count on some inspiration! One of these finds came home with me! Can you figure out which one? First, look at this fabulous frenchy two piece armoire…love it! Now...I just need a bigger house!
And…I love this secretary! Look at those fabulous lines and those mirrored doors...gorgeous! I am picturing it painted and slightly distressed...and I’m not usually one to paint furniture.
Here’s a dresser that is already painted…looks like some Annie Sloan colors to me. You have got to love the lines on this one…fabulously frenchy!
Also frenchy…this wonderful French couple in the form of candlesticks! I have a thing for provincial costumes…and pairs…so I love them!
More provincial costumes…are you beginning to see that I photograph in patterns?…then throw in some farm animals! I love the idea of framing these vintage cheese labels mounted on ticking! And…goats are a special favorite of mine…I want one!
And who can resist this vintage-looking bull decorating a wooden bowl? The bull is huge and so is the bowl!
And what search for frenchiness would be complete without a rooster? I haven’t seen this particular grain sack in red…fun! And you might recognize it because I showed you my version here!
And I was also happy to see some favorites of mine are still going strong! Love the mercury glass pumpkins…or is it a gourd?
And Santos cage dolls are still popular! Great…
…because I love mine…a little less primitive and always the star of my Christmas decorations! To see more of last year’s Christmas tour click here.
And we can’t forget fall…with these great felted wool acorns…
…and these acorns made of birch bark and pussy willows…so different!
I love this fabulous chippy urn! Just add more Indian corn, some pumpkins and gourds and maybe a few deer sheds…perfect for fall!
Speaking of deer, I love this vintage clock! It just says fall to me!
And now for a little fun…a little wooden pumpkin man sitting on a little chair! He wants to know…which of these things actually jumped in my car and came home with me? What do you think?
If you guessed the frenchy candle stick couple, you are right! Don’t they look fabulous with my Quimper plates? To see more of my collection, click here. Sometimes things just have to come home with someone who will love and appreciate them, don’t you think? That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my finds! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

I guessed the wonderful candlesticks! They had your name written all over them.
ReplyDeleteSo much lovely eye candy. Merci!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
I think I could get in some real trouble in that shop.
ReplyDeleteLove your treasure.
hugs
Sissie
Great shop. French decorating is not real big here in Northern Minnesota. But I sure like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop. I know I would have been in there a long, long time. You are going to have fun finding a great place to use your new candlesticks.
ReplyDeleteI love the birch bark and pussy willow acorns. Isn't it fun to see something different?
I guessed it when they were first pictured!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this post. And I knew INSTANTLY that it was the candle-sticks just from your love of Quimper. You turned me on to it, too.
ReplyDeleteI was all over that dresser and would have found some way to get it home. I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee and I'm heading back to look at this post again. It's just like on-line shopping...well, maybe on-line dreaming. Deb
I knew it was the candlestick couple, Debbie! I love those furniture pieces. I look at the large pieces when I'm at the local place. They are just crying out for a paint makeover but I just don't have the room for those big pieces.
ReplyDeleteI love when you show pics of going to that drool worthy shop!! I guessed right YAY!! They go perfectly with your Quimper plates!!
ReplyDeleteDarn. I was wrong. Thought it was that big, handsome bull to go with your cows. Thanks for taking me antiquing. It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteOh what a fabulous shop. I would love it. Definitely need to go antiquing. Such fun. Love your candlesticks. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous shop! I guessed correctly, but it was a toss-up with all those great items you featured. Now I'm getting excited for Christmas after viewing your photo from last year!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice to go with your Quimper, Debbie! I would have scooped of some of the felted acorns...
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you shopped some wonderful spots! I too, love the secretary! Although, I'm not sure I'd paint it. The mirrored doors and lines are wonderful...not that I have room for one more piece of furniture! Now, candlesticks are another thing...I always have room for one more pair!
Cheers!,
Barbara
Wow, I'm sooo glad you got the candlesticks! They are perfect with your Quimperware.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful things to look at, I loved so many of the items you showed. Thanks for sharing this.

ReplyDeleteI guessed right, too! I love that couple, and I am a Quimper nut too. Do you belong to the Quimper Club International? If not, you should look into it. We meet each year in a different spot, Quimper in France, Bath in England, Chicago, Washington, DC, White Plains, and this year in Baton Rouge! Look us up at this address;
