Rustic Christmas Centerpiece

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece There’s lots of Christmas decorating going on at my house…finally! I just wanted to stop and show you the centerpiece for the table in the breakfast area…starring my favorite new must-have…my chippy rustic wooden box! I love it!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Fall Centerpiece You may remember it when it starred in my fall decor! It was a great find at Joss & Main and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will have some more like it before Christmas! It would make a great gift!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece You may also notice that my faux deer antlers are back…a bargain find at Goodwill for under $3.00! I’ve added red ornaments and a votive to add to the Christmas-y feel.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT My Rustic Christmas CenterpieceI knew when I saw the box that I could fill it with fun stuff with each season and enjoy it year ‘round! The lead crystal urn is back, still filled with my favorite vintage silverplate  flatware. And it was just begging for a little Christmas tree, too!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece I found the cutest little glass ornaments at Hobby Lobby and these tiny candy canes at Dollar Tree…love them!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece The big ornaments came for Dollar Tree, also. I am loving red and white this year!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece And, of course, you can’t have Christmas without a reindeer! This one came from Michaels and has little twig antlers and mistletoe trim!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece You know I can’t have a centerpiece without adding at least one plate! This is one of my favorite holiday patterns…Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles Christmas in pink…love it!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Rustic Christmas Centerpiece And I can’t forget to mention the burlap table square that I made recently! It is proving to be so versatile during the fall and winter seasons! I love the look of a table square on a round table!

BK Baby Kitty is reminding me that I need to get back to work on my Christmas decorations! We have another project in the works involving those old French ticking curtain panels that I am cutting up this year for some inexpensive and fun additions to the decor. Hey…did you see the French ticking and burlap wreath and the French ticking stockings trimmed with vintage hankies that I have already made from my curtains?  Soon people are going to start calling me Scarlett! lol

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my Christmas decorations!  Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

  8. How beautiful. I love your chippy box! OMG, that transferware plate is to die for!!! You know I love transferware.

James Bond and I stopped at a tiny flea market this past weekend and there was a lady selling a full set of transferware in my favorite pattern, English Style Luneville. I got 12 plates, 12 small plates and 12 bowls for 15 Euro!!! I tried not to squeal when she told me the price. I have no idea where I'm going to put them. We now have more than 50 dinner plates, 62 small plates and 39 bowls (in various patterns and colors) not to mention all the tea cups and saucers, sugar and creamers and tea pots. It's taking over my house! Squeeeee!

  19. I have a similar tool caddy that I need to get from the basement and fill with
    Christmas goodies like you've done!

I just went to a monthly antique sale where they had many sets of antlers hanging on the wall with reindeer names(Dasher,Dancer,Prancer, etc.) mounted under each one. :@

  20. Sweet reindeer! Love his/her wreath around the neck. Are you pulling out your dough bowl for Christmas? Counting on you for ideas! I got one before Thanksgiving and my 89 yr old mom filled it with green apples, green pears and artichokes, with a few acorn and tiny pinecones mixed in. she added three pottery barn birch candles. She's an artist at heart; a full-time CPA til she was 76 by training. Her arrangements are mathmatical and creative at once. An eye for beauty.

  37. Okay Scarlet...you are on a roll! Your ability to bring together different elements so beautifully just amazes me. I have a little tree...I also have a wooden box, though not as chippy as yours. I even have a doe that would work, in lieu of the reindeer (which looks like an alpaca to me) & Lord knows, I've got enough crystal & silver to use, too, but I never would have thought to put them all together, like you did. Just D-A-R-L-I-N-G!!!

    BRAVO!
    fondly,

  47. I need a box, no kidding. I love it. I do the same thing on my kitchen table without the box. Sometimes I use a tray but the box looks fabulous. I may do a copycat using my tray. I've never used a Christmas and I really like that. Of course I love the background plates on the hutch. BEAUTIFUL!

  53. Just love your chippy wood box, love the reindeer, the tree and the ornaments ... and the burlap square. I made a burlap (short) runner early fall and have used it right through Christmas now, it just lends itself so well to Fall and Christmas, doesn't it? I found your link at Met Monday and glad I did - thanks for sharing your beauty.
