My Festive Tabletop Christmas Tree

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tabletop Christmas Tree Yaaay! I am finally almost through with my Christmas decorations and I think they are my favorite…ever!  Sooo…today I want to show you my little tabletop Christmas tree! I stopped doing a big tree several years ago and do lots of special  little trees instead.

kitty My co-host today is Miss Kitty who has been working in the background to clean up and put away all the Christmas mess that we made! Thanks, Kitty!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tabletop Tree3 This is the largest of the mini trees around my house and it has a place of honor…on my great-grandfather’s little table. I open up the leaves and use it behind one of the love seats.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tabletop Christmas Tree 2 I love it…so festive! I have kept the theme to mostly bright red ornaments and silvery snowflakes.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Cardinal Tree And you may have noticed that the ornaments are actually cardinals…one of my favorite birds. I have a pair that visits my backyard bird feeder all year long!

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Lantern One one side of the tree is a lantern holding a tiny tree and a gift…wrapped in Kraft paper and tied with a plaid ribbon….reflecting my burlap and tartan plaid theme this year.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tart Tins On the other side…one of my favorite Goodwill finds ever…a vintage French wire egg basket! It’s the real deal, with handles worn to a fabulous patina from years of use….and for under $2.00! Woo hoo! I have filled it with my collection of old-fashioned Christmas cookie cutters and Swedish tart tins and tied it with another plaid bow.

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Basket Below the table is a basket filled with more Kraft paper and plaid packages. I have hung a frosted candle ring as a wreath from one of the knobs. And speaking of patina…don’t you just love the look of antique wood?

CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT Tabletop Christmas Tree And there you have it…the first of the mini trees that I will be showing you! I love the way it looks with my burlap and plaid mantel that you see in the background! Come back for another visit and I will show you more of my little Christmas trees…so fun and festive!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my Christmas mantel!  Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

  1. Very pretty, Debbie! I love all the cardinals and you sure make some beautiful bows! The table is gorgeous! I love it!

  2. Debbie, How wonderful to have such a beautiful piece of family furniture!! Your Christmas vignette is so full of detail and so cherry! I love all the red! It's such a happy color!! Your mini tree is perfect for your g. grandfather's table!!!
Your little brown packages under the table make me swoon!!!! It must have taken a whole lot of thought and time to put this lovely area together!!!
Thaks for sharing it with us!

  3. I love this idea, Debbie, and your little cardinal tree is adorable! Your little helpers are always looking their best.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  4. First of all, that table is just beautiful, Debbie! What a great piece and I love that it has a history to you. Your tree is stunning! For a little tree it definitely is special. I love the red cardinals and the silver you've added to it. It suits perfectly and your addition of the tartan plaid bows to the vignette really ties in with your mantel nicely.

  5. Debbie, I just saw this on your Pinterest and had to come over asap! Love all your Christmas decor and this tree is fabulous!

    Merry Christmas,

  6. Debbie,

Your tree is stunning but I'm in love with your great grandfather's little table. Thank goodness we have our little feline helpers or we'd be forever getting side tracked. YTour decorations this year are just wonderful. Do you sit with a glass of wine at night and enjoy your trees with all the house lights off? I have a treasure also - my great grandfather's small cherry secretary desk. He was a watchmaker in the 1880s and used this because it had all those neat little cubbies to hold small parts. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

  7. Stunning! I'm a Louisville, Kentucky girl, so I am enchanted with the beautiful cardinals on the tree! Well always!

  8. Deb I will never forget the first time I saw a red cardinal. They are gorgeous and so is your darling little tree. Love all the special touches expecially the plaid ribbon. Gorgeous family heirloom piece too!! You are so lucky to have it,
    Merry Christmas,
    xo Kathysue*♥*

  9. I love the plaid ribbon so much. The red cardinals too and the snowflakes on the tree. Fabulous Christmas decor!

  10. I am in love with that tree!!! Cardinals are my favorites, too, and today my son was outside and took several amazing pictures of the bright red male in the tree. Your Christmas design is simply lovely. Hugs ~ Mary

  11. Debbie...LOVE your little tree with the cardinals. They're one of my favorite birds, too and so cheerful. The Frenchy egg basket was a great find. I haven't had any luck thrifting in a long time...which is just as well. I just cleared out the shed last month.
Have a great Sunday. Gosh, Christmas will be here before we know it.

  12. Too cute and I am not doing the big tree anymore either. So much easier to do the smaller ones.

  13. Looks so festive. I love the theme you are using.

  14. LOVE it Deb. Cardinals are one of my favorites too. We just saw one yesterday when we were out in the yard raking. He was perched in the holly tree and I so wished I could have gotten a picture. Your mini tree is as perfect as it comes. I love your great grandfather's table, what an absolute treasure. You know what? I have a wire basket of old star-shaped tart tins on my kitchen counter too. (something about great minds comes to mind) :-) I think you are right, this may be my fave year in your home too. xxoo

  15. It all looks soo pretty! I love your helper too.

  16. Debbie I love cardinals and your little tree is just precious in your plaid and burlap living room! I think I am starting to enjoy several small trees instead of a big one also. I've got one up so far and plan to do at least one more! Looking forward to seeing your other mini trees!

    Hugs, Linda

  17. What a beautiful little pretty with the frosted white branches and red birds. I love how you tied everything together with just the right amount of plaid! Cookie cutters in the wire basket are super cute too!

  18. love the kitty in a bag, debbie!

if you haven't already stopped by, hope you'll have a moment to enter the giveaway on my blog!

    happy december to you!

  19. Oh- I LOVE LOVE LOVE your little tree with the cardinals and sparklies. I am so impressed with your cat that is trained to clean up. How is puss at picking up after grandkids? I could use a helper! xo Diana

  20. I love the idea of using several small trees instead of a large one. I had not planned to put up our big tree this year, but hubby dragged it out of the basement. Maybe next year, I can do this! Your cardinal tree is beautiful, and I love the vignette you've created around your antique table.

  21. Debbie,
So, you've "bagged" Miss Kitty, huh? Too cute!!! That adorable face. . .I'd never get anything done except hold and pet her!!!

WoW!!! What an adorable cardinal and snowflake tree, dear friend! The table is precious!!! Here On Crooked Creek we have numerous heirloom tables. You've given me the idea now to showcase them Seasonably! Have fun decorating your mini~trees (many trees)!

  22. Debbie,

This tree is adorable, I love the cardnials.

  26. Debbie, this is just as cute as can be. Absolutely darling!

  27. Debbie I love the tree, love the table, love the wrapped presents and cute little wreath, I love it all!

  28. Wow I really like your mini Christmas tree! I put mini Christmas tree every room of my house in order to add joy when holidays come.

  29. Your tree is definitely beautiful. I love the tartan ribbons too!

Kitties are helpful, aren't they!? Mine helped me wrap packages last night ;)

  30. That is gorgeous! I love all the red decor. I would love for you to participate in my SHOW-licious Craft Showcase!

  31. Love your tree with all the cardinals and especially loved your co-host ;)

  32. Loving your little tree, Debbie. I love cardinals too although we don't have them here.

    Christmas blessings,

  33. It's all beautiful, but I think my favorite is actually the basket full of cookie cutters - such a creative use! I'm thrilled to have found you through Marty's party. And I love your blog name as I do am a plate addict!
    Jessica @ A Humble Creation

  34. Love all your cardinals, I have so many cardinals to use at Christmas and only got out a few of them this year. Also love the basket of cookie cutters and your great plaid bow on top.

  35. I love your tabletop tree! I did one this year too instead of a really big tree. I adore cardinals too and I love yours!

  36. I love your tree!! We killed our very first full-sized Christmas tree, so we got a countertop one to replace, and it grew on me awfully fast. Cardinals are one of my favorite bird too, (next to chickadees!) and they're so festive! Maybe that's why I love them so much... :) Happy to see this on the Sunday Showcase!
    ~April @DimplesandDelights

  37. Debbie, I don't know how I missed this post....but that cute little table was at a local
flea market. I wanted it...but hesitated...The man behind me knew its value and scooped
it up as soon as I moved away...They had a price of $40. on it.
Never second guess!! Love the tree and all the cardinals. We used to see cardinals and blue jays and the last few years they have not returned....

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment! I appreciate my wonderful readers!... Debbie
