My Music is apparently being reworked as radio "stations" and is not currently available. I will add it later once it is no longer in Beta form. Thanks for your understanding!

I understand that there are mixed feelings about having music on a blog. I hope that you will enjoy the songs that I have selected for you. However, I have removed the automatic start feature from my music player for those who do not care to listen. For those who, like me, love music on a blog, just scroll down to the bottom of my blog and click to start! The songs are either my favorite French songs or from my favorite French recording artists.

Many of the selections are from Carla Bruni, the Italian-born French singer, songwriter and former model who is married to former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. I love her voice!

Can you imagine a pop star as First Lady here in the U.S.?

Another favorite of mine is Henri Salvador who was born in  French Guiana and played a part in the French music scene from the 1940's until his death at the age of 90 in 2008. He recorded the first French rock and roll songs in 1956! It is his voice that was used to dub in as Sebastian the crab for the French version of The Little Mermaid! You can't be in a bad mood when you hear his songs!

My all-time favorite French recording artist is Julien Clerc! He got his start playing the leading role in the French version of Hair, the well-known and controversial rock musical. I actually got to see it in Paris on the closing night, but by then, Julien Clerc had established himself as a singer and songwriter and had left the show. He has since gone on to become one of the greatest Francophone musicians of his generation. You can also find him on his youtube channel and at his official website.

Finally, I am sure that you noticed Kevin Kline among the recording artists on my music player! Yes, that's him singing La Mer at the end of one of my favorite movies...French Kiss...where he portrays a scruffy, but charming French crook who falls in love with Meg Ryan's character. Did you know that Gerard Depardieu was slated for the part but was not available? I don't think the movie would have been the same without Kevin Kline!

I hope you enjoy listening to my selections!
