One of my all-time favorites is my FARMHOUSE THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE. I used grapevine wreaths as chargers to add some texture and chunky pewter flatware and goblets to add a rustic feel.
But the star of this one is the centerpiece! It's a hand-made galvanized tool tote that I found at an antique fair...for only $20!! I filled it with seasonal naturals, pumpkins and candles and ...voilà!... farmhouse perfection!
Another favorite is this one with WHITE PUMPKINS, BITTERSWEET AND MERCURY GLASSS taking center stage...
...a collection of fresh and faux pumpkins and gourds twined with bittersweet and topped off with votives and mercury glass candlesticks! The center pumpkin was raised on an overturned cup topped by a saucer to add height and interest. Hint...I spray-painted $5.00 faux pumpkins from Walmart a natural-looking cream color for an inexpensive but elegant look!
Here's another favorite...my POTTERY BARN INSPIRED TABLESCAPE WITH VINTAGE WOOD AND MERCURY GLASS PUMPKINS.
And I really love the centerpiece...this POTTERY BARN INSPIRED MONOGRAMMED SERVING BOARD. It's not only pretty and practical for serving hot dishes but easy to make as well!
I also love this one...my PUMPKINS AND PEWTER RUSTIC THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE. The twiggy placemats and deer sheds add lots of texture and an outdoorsy feel and the pewter flatware and goblets give it a rustic air.
The centerpiece is relatively simple...fresh pumpkins, autumn leaves and bittersweet. The central pumpkin is elevated again...this time with an overturned terracotta pot and over-sized saucer painted a creamy white.
And finally, this is one of my first efforts and maybe my very favorite...my THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE IN CREAMS WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS. I love the simple elegance and the way the candlelight reflects in my mother's vintage flatware! And the INDIAN CORN CANDLES add to the real Thanksgiving feel!
But I think it is the centerpiece that I love most...candles and pumpkins anchored on a bed of dried beans in my grandmother's dough bowl!
Now...did you spot the three things they all had in common? In looking back I realized that they all had several of the same elements!
1. NEUTRAL CREAM PLATES In fact, the very same plates...one of my favorite thrifting finds ever...my Chris Madden Felice...found at Goodwill for only $10! However, of course, any creamy or white plates would work.
2. AN INTERESTING AND UNIQUE CENTERPIECE Seasonal naturals added to interesting pieces such as my tool box or serving board make great conversation pieces as well!
3. A GREAT TABLE RUNNER My burlap table runner is at the heart of every one of these tablescapes, adding texture and helping to pull everything together. If you would like to make one of your own, you will find a detailed tutorial HERE. I leave mine out all through fall and winter and have discovered that it really adds to my Christmas tablescapes as well!
There you have it...my favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes! This year we will be at my sister's house so there will not be a big family dinner in the dining room. It will be replaced instead by a smaller tablescape in the breakfast room for Thanksgiving morning...so stay tuned to see what I have planned!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Debbie. I agree with you - that very first tablescape of yours for Thanksgiving is understatedly gorgeous, and my favorite too. I love the clever use of the inverted flower pot/saucer as pedestal too! I just love tablescaping, and yours have consistently caught my eye through the years. Thank you for inspiring!
