You see…it started on my new zinc tray…mostly because I wanted you to see it…my Pottery Barn Outlet bargain! And I wanted to use my favorite colors…blue and yellow. Now I am no minimalist, but I still knew something was wrong.
And then my oh-so-wise CEO Miss Ozzie, who always gets straight to the point, had a suggestion…Edit, my dear, just edit. Focus on the things you love best!
And she was right! So I pulled out my favorite ironstone tea pot…
…and I added my wonderful vintage blue Mason jar…
…filled with a beautiful blossoming hydrangea and a bouquet of yellow and white flowers.
Next came my favorite bird’s nest whose creator had lovingly decorated it with a crape myrtle seed pod. Then I filled it with bluebird eggs from an abandoned nest…thanks to a very territorial pair of mocking birds who want to remain neighborless.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed having a little peek at my simple summer centerpiece! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

Great vignette Debbie! I have trouble with the edit part too!
ReplyDeleteLuvly Debbie! I might have to borrow your CEO next time to help me edit! :-)
ReplyDeleteNote to self... must get some of those jars!
Happy Thursday evening.
Hugs, Gee
Oh, she is so right. Beautiful centerpiece. I believe we love the same colour combinations.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely ... it really speaks summer...fresh Happy Thursday with love Janice
ReplyDeletePure charm, Debbie! I'm bringing out my aqua Ball jars for some summer blooms on the sun porch. '-)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I have a very similar vignette on my patio coffee table but there's a funny story with mine. My eggs are blue candy eggs....or they were. They've been out there a week. We went out yesterday morning to have our coffee and the nest was torn up and the eggs were gone!! Some varmint got them. I'm probably going to post about it just because it's funny to me. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette! Love your beautiful photos and the backdrop of blue & white dishes. So pretty with the yellow touches, nest and sweet kitty!
ReplyDeleteWould love for you to share at Amaze Me Monday, hope you'll add it to your party list!
Blessings,
Cindy
Lovely! Good help is hard to find so you should give Miss Ozzie a special treat! I'm busy packing instead of creating, but that will change once I move! I'm going to move to Athens to be closer to my family and be able to babysit Tiger more often! I am so happy! Moving in July, Paris in Sept! Life is good!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Oh my goodness that nest is just beautiful!! And I can't believe those are real eggs?! Love the lemons you added to this -- a great reminder that the simplest of elements can create a stunning presentation!
ReplyDeleteMiss Ozzie really has a sense of style. She knows how to put that perfect look to a vignette. :) I love it, too, especially the nest with the blue eggs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tablescape! It would be a perfect addition to Fresh-Cut Friday. I hope you will consider joining us.

ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette! I love the crepe myrtle seed pod on the nest. I'm hoping to do a vintage jar vignette sometimes soon. I inherited bunches of very interesting ones.
ReplyDeleteI love Miss Ozzie's eye she's got it! This is very pretty and simple. I love hydrangeas.

It's beautiful, Debbie. Love every little piece of your vignette, and wonderful all together!
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty Deb and I do love the combination of all the elements together. You know me Less Is More big is better gal so I think your editing paid off with a beautiful table vignette!! Happy weekend,
ReplyDeleteKathysue
Love this, Debbie, and those blue bird eggs are just precious. xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I have such trouble with tablescapes - I tend to use too little.
ReplyDeleteAnd...I just wanted to tell you how much I love your office staff! You are a truly wise woman.
I love it, Debbie. Wish I still had all my old blue jars. They were given to a friend when we moved from the farm.
ReplyDeleteI made my trip to Tractor Supply yesterday. Found a couple of cute things. I'll publish a post tomorrow or Monday. Now, I need to go to Farmer's Coop and Orscheln and see what they have.:-)
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteSimply divine, dear friend!!!
Many times, I'm swayed to try something trendy and 'in vogue',
but when I stay true to my Traditional roots. . .it just feels 'right'!!!
Love the centerpiece!!!
I'd say . . ."You got this one just right"!!!
Fondly,
Pat
