Or at least his latest book…Home. I am sooo excited! If you have followed my blog for very long, you know that I think he is the man…the font of all knowledge when it comes to Country French! And his latest book does not disappoint! It is filled with fabulous photographs of his amazing rooms…great mixes of fabrics, antique French furniture and marvelous collections of plates and more! And best of all…lots of color!
I was so inspired by a blue and white arrangement that I found in one of the photos that I decided to give my living room a little makeover...starting with a coffee table revamp! I just used three big statement pieces…simple. I have to control myself because I like “little” and tend to use a lot of small things. I am trying to make myself use fewer and bigger pieces.
Our co-host Baby Kitty seems unconcerned since he knows I am using Charles Faudree as my example and I don’t need a lot of help from him today.
Here it is! I think I like the uncluttered look! I am really liking those green pears!
Here’s where they were before…and I liked them there, too. I may have to be on the hunt for more green! And…what do you think of my new lamp? I got it from my favorite flea/antique market with every intention of painting it a creamy white and then distressing it. I just plopped it down on the table and then realized that I love it green! Doesn’t it have a fabulous and unusual shape? I have a little "paint it white or leave it green" poll going on my Facebook page here if you'd like to voice your opinion. So far it looks like green is winning!
And on the mantel…more blue and white with pops of green! It’s an arrangement I have used before, but with a painting behind it. I think I like it better with the mirror. You can get a peek at more blue and white on my hutch in the reflection.
And at the center of it all…my favorite sheep! I walked past him and wanted him for two years before I finally gave in and bought him. Thank goodness he waited for me!
And there you have it…my Faudree inspired living room! Once again, my main man Charles Faudree has validated my idea of all that is Country French! And…I am happy because I shopped the house so my makeover was virtually free! And best of all...I have a whole new go-to book when I need some decorating ideas! Yaaay!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed a little peek at my Faudree inspired living room! Please visit these wonderful bloggers and their beautiful blogs to see what they are up to and to find a list of this week’s participants!

ReplyDeleteLovely, gorgeous and inspiring...that's YOU! I do love your blue with the bright, fun green!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I saw this book in a shop today -- didn't buy it yet.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look Debbie! So fresh! Also, I would die to have that darling sheep. I'm really in to lambs and sheep. Can you divulge where to get one like it?
ReplyDeleteThat looks wonderful. I love simple too, but tend to use too many small pieces at times. Your coffee table is perfect. Love your house...the mantel is gorgeous as well. I'll have to find this book!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the use of green with blue & white! Great lamp!
ReplyDeleteGreat look, Debbie! The touches of green are so pretty - very alive. And I agree about the green lamp....it's a keeper-color! Your mantel is beautiful, too - love the versatility of a mirror. Linda
ReplyDeleteBut,of course, it is beautiful! Now You've inspired me to make some changes, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! Nanci...it came from a flea/antique market...only one I have ever seen like it!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteDebbie- How very, very gorgeous! I absolutely love Charles Faudrie. I think he is so talented....can't get much better than that. Enjoy poring over that book- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I especially like the look of the mantel. Did I ever tell you that I feel in love with that darling sheep the first time you showed us a picture of it. It was in a post of photos of what was in the shop. Guess it was when you first saw it. Well, last year while at a local consignment shop, there was one waiting for moi! So now one resides here at HFTS. I came across another one of these, but a different animal (a pig I think), but it just didn't tug at my heart. I left it for someone else to discover. Thanks for the heads up on the new book. I'll order a copy. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie. Everything is so pretty and especially the mantel! I love that sheep and glad he waited on you! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Pretty room, and so fresh!! I love the mirror over your mantle too.
ReplyDeleteLovin' it. So pretty. Got to hit the book store and get that book. I also love the green. Adds that pop. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThose pears just tied that green lamp right in! Love the mantel!

Love the new look- the pops of green are wonderful! I'm so glad you showed us your green lamp. I bought two lamps at thrift stores, trying to figure out what color to paint them, was thinking cream- now I think I'll paint at least one of them a color- hmm, purple? green like yours?
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, I love the green with the blue and white. So refreshing. I must get a copy of that book. Isn't it fun to shop the house and rearrange? It's amazing how much stuff there is to decorate with. Love your new arrangements.
ReplyDeleteOh a new book. Love all of his and your new arrangements are beautiful. I think a touch of green is always fabulous. Thanks for linking up. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that sheep waited for you too - it looks fabulous. Love the changes and the new lamp. Enjoy your posts so much!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteYour living room make~over is stunning! Had I not seen the green pears on the coffee table and the green on the mantle, I would have voted to paint the lamp white...but the green is working well here, dear friend!!! Your living room is gorgeous!!! So~o~o nice to have Baby Kitty's help, should you need it!!! He's such a charmer!!!
Fondly,
Pat
This is just so pretty, Debbie--I especially like that green lamp--how cool is that?? I love color, and I love seeing it next to your neutral walls--it's all lovely! I will have to look for the Home book by Faudree, because he is new to me. Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour blues and greens offer cush a coolness for an August day. I love the freshness your decor offers!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Carolynn

ReplyDeleteDebbie...I too am a Charles Faudree fan...have all his books that I love to reference....The blue and white with the "apple green" is so classic...looks fantatic on your table....just makes me smile !....
ReplyDeleteGreat look, love the blue and white piece then adding the green was a perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new time follower & am so inspired by your blog. I've had a love affair with blue & white for ages and even have the same ginger jar you have in this post. I love the way you've arranged everything. Simple and not busy allows for the pottery/china & surrounding elements to shine. Thank you for sharing this eye candy...I have a bit of an addiction as well.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Mr. Faudree had a new book. I feel a little out of the loop... :( I'll check it out. I love the pop of green with my blue and white. But I really love it with black, blue and white! :) Yummy!
