And like the proverbial white rabbit, I’m late, I’m late for my dear friend Barb’s Tea Time Tuesday at Grits and Glamour! Be sure to stop by her blog for some yummy looking tea time goodies and to see who else came to the tea party!
I was Goodwill hunting with my friend Linda at Nina’s Nest when I came across this little cutie for a steal! Well…my heart just melted and I had to have it because, as you can see, it’s a Hey Diddle Diddle tea set! That is my all time favorite nursery rhyme!! Are you surprised? Maybe it’s the cat with a fiddle!
Baby Kitty got all excited when he saw me pulling out my camera and playing with my dishes because that means he gets to play co-host! Being the clever star that he is, he never misses a photo op!
Just look at this little tea pot! Isn’t it darling? I actually saw the set online for $45!! I paid $4.54 for mine!
...and the cat looks downright mad! Maybe it’s because they put a hole in his hat for the spout!! lol
Aren’t the little cups precious? I love the star handles! It also helps that the tea set is blue and yellow…my favorite colors!
It even came with its own Blue Moon tea! Will I drink it?? Uhhhh…probably not! But the box sure is cute!!
Hmmm…something is missing! Well…of course, it’s the little laughing dog and the runaway dish and spoon! Oh, well…they seem to be minor characters in this tea set! But we surely could use…
…a sugar and creamer! Baby Kitty want to show you this milk glass pair that I also found at GW! I love the fruit design!
Salut Debbie, J'aime bien ça - mignon! Et le "verre en lait" - quel bon marché (GC?) Moi, j'aime aussi "le chat et le violon" - et le couvert de thé (franglais) est parfait! Linda
ReplyDeleteI love this, Debbie. Oh, so cute! And that Baby Kitty looks so much like Alfie. He was my favorite cat I ever had, and oh, such a star, too. It must be something about those orange and white big boys. They like to mug for the camera. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou got a great deal on your finds. I want to shop with YOU!
XO,
Sheila :-)
This is all just adorable! Great bargains too!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThis is just so sweet, and I physically jumped back a little when I scrolled down and Baby Kitty was suddenly sitting there!! I hadn't realized how small the tea set was (or how big kitty is!!)
Goodwill???? Who would ever give this up??? The milk glass C & S is fabulous also!
Great TT!! :-)
xoxo

Love the tea pot. So cute...thought of this blog today when I visited a very nice store in downtown Savannah called Paris. As we traveled down the street, we found a wonderful little French cafe (don't remember the name but I brought home a menu!) Too bad we ate dinner before we went for a little stroll.............
ReplyDeleteDebbie, It's just too cute for words! You have the best luck thrifting! Very pretty! ☺ Diane

ReplyDeleteOkay you have officially gone over the edge!! There is no way you found that adorable adorable tea set "With Tea" for that cheap at the Goodwill....You and Linda must have some magical Goodwill place that only you two can find...and the milkglass for 88 cents....impossible....I was just at Goodwill in Woodstock and they wanted $3.49 A piece for blue stemmed glasses that you can find at the Dollar Tree...I bought 4 little April Cornell dessert plates...you know like 6" size and I had to pay $12.00....at Goodwill!! I am very jealous of you two....
