We have had a very rainy Spring this year in Georgia and I am extra excited because we are coming out of a three year drought! Soooo...after a wonderful rainy day, I took some photos of the flowers in my garden! This is my new favorite...my spider lily! I love its elegant, lacy petals! And just look at those spidery, yellow-capped stamens! Gorgeous!
Then on a much simpler note, this is my wild petunia! It's a very hardy perennial that I bought during a visit to Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It blooms faithfully every morning, but the blooms only last one day! I love the delicate color!
Of course, what's a garden without this stand-by? I love this particular begonia...with bright green foliage and pink blooms! It is planted in a bed by my front door to welcome my guests!
I am so happy that my pink lace cap hydrangea will bloom this year! An early frost has prevented that the last two years. I will show you a photo of it when it is in full bloom later...lovely!
I have two hanging baskets of this torinia near by back door. It grows profusely and will be huge by the end of the summer. It is a special favorite of mine because it attracts hummingbirds. I love to watch them!
Here is a small, but perfect geranium bloom! I love to have lots of these. They remind me of France because they are planted in window boxes from Paris to the smallest village! Lovely!
And finally, here are my stella d'oro daylilies! They have become so lush and healthy this year that I will need to divide them this Fall! And they are so bright and cheerful!
I hope you have enjoyed this look around my garden! Please be sure to stop by Artie's to continue your garden tour of blogland! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time! A la prochaine!
Beautiful flowers, Debbie! Your spider lily is stunning! Happy SAG Sunday
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie, your flowers are just gorgeous. So pretty. I think my favorite is that beautiful Spider Lily. I also really love geraniums. They do real well here in the winter, but then everything does. Not much in the hot summer except Oleander and they grow to be trees. Hope you're having a great weekend. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie! THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! I have the the Stella's too! Aren't they great!? I've actually got lots of lilies, but those spider lilies are quite unique! I have nothing like that. I'm gonna have to hit the nursery tomorrow! LOL! That's what this event was all about - spreading inspiration! THANK you so much for playing along!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Debbie. I love them all, but the hydrangea is my favorite. Can't wait to see it in all it's glory. Hugs, Kat

Beautiful pictures of beautiful flowers -- love your spider lily -- I don't have any of those but you can see why it got it's name.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, Your spider lily is beautiful & love the wild petunia, & it's such a pretty color. Do you have any other day lilies? I have quite a few & many of them came from Georgia! They're getting ready to all burst in bloom at once.

Hi Deb, these are wonderful, I would have a very hard time picking out a favorite but the spider lily does intrigue me. I remember you post about that before, is that the one from you grandmothers house that has a wonderful fragrance? Thank you for sharing. Hugs Kathysue

Uh-oh, you're making me want to go to Lowes and Home Depot. Lately, if I need something from there, I force myself to use the entrance and exit on the far side from the garden center. I cannot resist buying more plants! I'm trying to be a good girl! The rain has made my garden grow like crazy this year.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I am not familiar with the torinia. I have the stella d'oros, although they are not blooming yet.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous, Debbie!...Christine
ReplyDeleteGirl, you've got it going with those plants! Very pretty, Debbie. Those lilies are a wonderful color. The torinia grew in profusion in my flower bed one summer, and I used to have the cutest little round glass bowls (I found for a dollar each) which I would fill with it and take to people. Fresh flowers always make people happy! Love yours...
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Oh these are stunning photos. I LOVE! I was in Georgia last summer for my son's graduation from Fort Benning. I could not get over how GREEN it is! And a little "moist" shall we say. **blows kisses** Deborah
